Putin says weapons will be tested against Isis

Vladimir Putin has said he hopes nuclear warheads will not be needed to deal with terrorists, after Russia launched cruise missiles from its submarine at Syria.
During a meeting in the Kremlin, Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu told the President that Kalibr cruise missiles had been fired by the submerged Rostov-on-Don submarine from the Mediterranean Sea for the first time.
He said TU-22 bombers also took part in the latest raids and that "significant damage" had been done to a munitions depot, a factory manufacturing mortar rounds and oil facilities. Two major targets in Raqqa, the defacto capital of Isis, had been hit, said Mr Shoigu.

South Africans move assets abroad at record pace as rand tumbles

South African investors are moving their money out of the country at the fastest pace ever.
Portfolio investment abroad jumped to the biggest quarterly outflow on record, the South African Reserve Bank said on Tuesday in its third-quarter report. Investors more than doubled the amount sent overseas to 24.2 billion rand ($1.66 billion) in the period from 10 billion rand in the previous three months, the central bank said.
“The exceptional rand weakness has made retail investors very nervous,” Rhynhardt Roodt, an analyst at Investec Asset Management Pty Ltd., which oversees about $105 billion, said by phone from Cape Town. These investors, “who did not have a lot of their capital offshore two or three years ago, are starting to do it now. You could argue that the horse has bolted.”
The rand fell to a fresh all-time low against the dollar Tuesday, under pressure from a possible interest rate increase in the U.S. next week, credit rating downgrades and a worsening trade outlook. A China-led commodity rout this year could leave the economy growing at the slowest pace since 2009, according to central bank forecasts. The country narrowly avoided a recession during the third quarter, posting annualized expansion of 0.7 percent.

Pessimism about the nation’s political and economic environment and the rand’s decline has created a negative feedback loop, Jean-Pierre du Plessis, fixed interest strategist at Prescient Investment Management Pty Ltd. in Cape Town, said by e-mail.
“The rand’s declines in 2001 and 2008 were more to do with a global crisis when in fact South Africa’s economic position was much stronger,” Du Plessis said. “Now, the country has become more vulnerable, as evidenced by the recent ratings movements, while dollar strength and weaknesses in emerging and commodity-producing countries like South Africa are also responsible.”

Petition to ban Trump from Britain tops 100,000

More than 130,000 people had signed Wednesday a petition to ban US presidential hopeful Donald Trump from Britain following his call to bar Muslims from entering the United States. Having topped 100,000 signatures, the petition now has to be considered for debate by parliament and will require a written government response.
“The UK has banned entry to many individuals for hate speech. The same principles should apply to everyone who wishes to enter the UK,” said the petition. The petition was part of a social media storm after Trump said that radicalisation meant there parts of London where the police feared for their lives.
Tweeting under the ironic hashtag #trumpfacts, web users mocked the blustering tycoon. One tweet had a picture of London’s telecom tower with the comment: “The world’s tallest minaret calls the whole nation to prayer in the UK”. Another carried an image of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a headscarf with the inscription: “Even the British monarch is now forced to wear a hijab”.

How To Say “No” Without Hurting Your Husband

It was discovered lately that one of the main reasons men become annoyed when their wives turn them down, is not about the rejection itself but about the mode of conveyance.
As a wife, you must know the right way to reject his advances if you must do so for a genuine reason.
Genuine reasons to say “No”
(1) Sickness – If you are sick, let him know even before bed time so that he can prepare his mind that there will be “no show” that night.  As soon as you are healed, resume your duty.
(2) New baby – If you have just been delivered of a baby, sex should be avoided to allow the body to heal. Once you are okay and birth fluid stops coming from your vagina, resume your duty. Never allow motherhood to hinder your marriage.
(3) Menstruation- If both of you are not comfortable with making love during menstruation, then this may be another genuine reason. Immediately your period starts, inform him, maybe jokingly by saying, “Oh boy! Your “visitor has come down here”. He will understand and switch off his mind about sex. Note that sex during menstruation is not bad if it is your agreement.
(4) Tiredness – If you are really tired, notify him. However, EXCUSES THAT YOU ARE TIRED EVERY NIGHT CAN MAKE HIM TIRED OF YOU.
(5) Prayer and fasting – The period of fasting should also be separated and you should avoid sex during this period. This is not because it is sinful to have sex while fasting, rather, it gives you time to focus on your prayers. Note that if you break your fast in the evening, you can still have sex, despite the fact that you have intentions to fast the next day.
(6) Last week of pregnancy – In the last week of pregnancy, most doctors advise couples to stay off sex, so as not to ignite pre-mature contraction. This could be another reason to say no, but note that sex can come from day one of the pregnancy to few weeks to your expected date of delivery (EDD)
