3 Secrets to Financial Success

Financial success is not the property of the privileged, neither is it the bounty of the fortunate few; financial success is the certain possession of the individuals who are willing to follow the principles of financial success.
These principles that I’m referring to will work for anyone who applies them; no one can apply these principles and not succeed, anymore than someone can add 1+1 and not get 2.
Note that the advice in this article is based on my personal experiences as well as my private observations.

The 3 Keys to Financial Success:

1. Experience

“Good judgment comes from experience.Experience comes from bad judgment.”- Jim Horning
We live in a society where people often want something for nothing, or at least very little. They want to diet for a week and then be thin for a lifetime, they want to save for a month and spend for a year, they want to invest a dollar and make a million, but it doesn’t work that way.
To succeed financially you need experience; you must first “put in the time!” There are no overnight successes; it takes years of focus to grow into an individual that it is capable of providing enough value, to enough individuals, to reap a significant financial harvest.
There may be people who “seem” to have had overnight successes, but things are not always as they appear. You are unaware of the summation of their childhood experiences, you are ignorant of the price that they have paid; while you were “hanging with your friends,” they were preparing for greatness.
It takes time to succeed! This is why it’s critical to work in an area that you love! It will serve you well to do something that you thoroughly enjoy, something that you’re passionate about. It’s your love that will allow you to work when everyone else has gone home; it is your passion that will drive you to the finish line.
Financial success takes time and experience! Often someone will see an individual who seemingly experienced an overnight success and try to duplicate that success. The problem is that they don’t know the story in its entirety. They are unaware of the many years of preparation this individual had to tread through; they see the results and assume they’re easily duplicative.

2. Impact

“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened.”Buddha.
Who are you impacting? Put it another way, “Who’s problems are you solving?” You will only be rewarded in this lifetime for the problems that you solve for other people. To have great financial success you must solve the problems of a great number of people.
Michael Jordan has entertained millions of people, which is why he has millions of dollars; Bill Gates’ software has improved the lives of billions of people, which explains why he has billions of dollars. How many people are you influencing, your financial success lies in your ability to impact the masses.
This is why growth is so important. When you take time to grow and to expand your mind through reading, studying and experiences, you become a better you.
As you grow, your ability to influence increases; you must “grow-up” before you can wield your influence. Two people stuck in quicksand can’t help each other. To the degree that you grow, is to the degree that you will attract people who want to be influenced by you. If you become worthy of being duplicated, then people will want to duplicate your activities, they will want to do what you’re doing, but this only happens when you make the conscious choice to “grow-up.”
If you want little financial success, grow a little, and help a small number of people. If you want great success, grow big, and help a great number of people. The choice is yours, no one can stop your growth except you.

3. Vision

“Where there is no vision the people perish.”– Solomon Helen Keller said, “It’s a terrible thing to see and have no vision.”
You can’t get to a place you can’t see! You can’t become a financial success if you relentlessly see yourself as “poor.” You can never rise above the image that you have of yourself. If you see struggle, you must struggle.
Your vision must be fixed on your goal like the commander of the ship is fixated on the dock in the port in which his ship is being directed.
This is why the imagination and visualization is so important. Your imagination gives you the ability to pre-play your future; your ability to visualize may be the greatest gift you possess. Are you using it? Its visualization that allows you to conceive the possibility of a better life; it is through visualization that the gift of financial success is conceived.
Conception first takes place in the mind, and through the process of “experience” and “impact,” financial success is birth into your world.
But you must first see it in your mind. If you can’t see it, you can’t have it. Your financial success must first be conceived in the very real world of your imagination.
When you see it in advance, you’re not surprised when it happens. If you would be astonished with a million dollars in your bank account, then that’s a sign that you’re not ready for it, it’s a sign that you’ve not yet had the experience, the impact, or the belief in the vision to turn that thought into a reality.
If you can’t see it, you won’t manifest it, and you will consistently grasp defeat from the jaws of victory. But if you can see it! I said, …”But if you can see it!” The word “but” disqualifies the previous statement, and places the emphasis on the upcoming statement.

The Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mr Godwin Eke, said on Sunday that the Federal Government was set to begin rehabilitation of the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway and other federal roads in Lagos. Eke told newsmen while inspecting the highway that construction giant Julius Berger had submitted cost estimates for the repairs of the Ilasamaja/Berliet/Iyana Itire sections of the Apapa/Oshodi expressway. He, however, said that the Federal Ministry of Works was waiting for approval of the 2016 budget, to begin the repairs. Eke said that the site inspection became necessary, “to assess the current situation of the highway’’. The Controller expressed sadness over the failed portions and apologised to road users on behalf of the federal government, stating that all failed sections will receive priority attention. He appealed to road users on the Apapa-Oshodi expressway to be patient, adding that government was pained by the hardship faced by motorists due to the bad portions. Eke said that government was also set to begin the rehabilitation of all federal roads across the country. “The Ilasamaja/Berliet/Iyana Itire sections of this Apapa-Oshodi expressway are in deplorable condition. “We have made some proposals and designs on how to fix the highway and other federal roads in Lagos, but it is tied to the 2016, 2017 and the 2018 budgets. “The Minister, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN), has given his word that the Apapa/Oshodi expressway and all other federal roads in Lagos and throughout the federation will be fixed soon. “We are assuring the public that as soon as the budget is passed, we will mobilise the contractors to site to begin repairs on these critical sections, that is, the Ilasamaja/Berliet/Iyana Itire sections,’’ he said.

Papa Wemba, Congolese rumba dies after collapsing on stage

Papa Wemba, a musician known around the world as the king of Congolese rumba, has died following a collapse on stage during a concert, officials said. He was 66.
Culture Minister Baudouin Banza Mukalay confirmed the musician’s death Sunday, calling it a “great loss for the country and all of Africa.”
Footage from the concert in Ivory Coast shows his fellow performers rushing to his side as he collapsed in front of thousands of fans. He was taken to a nearby clinic, but couldn’t be resuscitated. The cause of death wasn’t immediately known.
The musician, whose real name was Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba, rose to fame in the Congolese capital of Kinshasa during the 1970s with the band Zaiko Langa Langa, whose guitar-based fusion of Latin and African dance styles inspired a generation of African musicians.

Kuwait to test tourists' DNA before letting them into the country

Kuwait is taking homeland security to new heights later this year as the Persian Gulf nation will require its citizens, temporary residents and tourists to submit DNA samples to a $400 million security database.
Kuwait’s National Assembly passed the law in July last year, a month after an ISIS suicide bomber killed 27 people and injured 227 in the country’s capital.
According to Jamal al-Omar, a parliament member“We are prepared to approve anything needed to boost security measures in the country,The government will collect saliva and blood samples from anyone living there. Tourists will have to submit their own samples before entering the country.
Disobeying the law will cost you. Those who refuse to provide samples can face up to a year in jail and a $33,000 fine; falsifying DNA samples will result in seven years behind bars.

Prepaid meters: NERC to sanction defaulting power firms

Against the backdrop of the statement by electricity distribution companies that they cannot provide one million prepaid meters to customers yearly, the industry regulator has said it will sanction any Disco that fails to live up to its performance agreements.
The Acting Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Mr. Anthony Akah said "NERC has directed the Discos to meet up their metering obligations in line with the performance agreements. And therefore, we are going to look into the number of meters they are supposed to do and hold them strictly accountable. There is no going back on that."
“If they fail to meter consumers in line with those clear agreements that were duly signed, then we will have to sanction them and may have to come out with other regulatory intervention to protect the consumers from undue estimated billing.”
The Discos had on last Wednesday said the cap on their capital expenditure was a hindrance to meeting the deadline given to them by the Federal Government to meter one million electricity consumers annually.

FBI has arrested 30 Muslims on U.S. soil

The Islamic State threat metastasizes and yet not one U.S. leader has asked American Muslim groups why they have no programs to teach against its view of Islam and prevent “radicalization.”
30muslim Americans have been arrested on the 23rd of April, and this is a terror alert – including another plot to bomb Boston.
FBI agents have made at least 30 arrests on US soil this year as they try to combat the murderous reach of ISIS and its warped followers
Officials revealed this week that the Islamic terror group has a foothold in all 50 states as it continues to target disaffected Americans through its torrent of online propaganda and slick videos of barbaric beheadings and mutilations.
The stark warning comes days after ISIS-inspired gunman Saif Rezgui unleashed horror on at a Tunisian beach resort, killing 39 vacationers and wounding dozens more.

The FBI has reportedly set up command centers in each of its 56 field officers in case extremists try to mark the July 4 weekend by unleashing similar carnage here in the U.S. American ISIS ‘recruits’ to date have included schoolgirls, a young nurse, a pizza shop boss and even a National Guard soldier who hatched a plan to gun down 120 of his own colleagues.
Some have conspired to travel or send friends abroad to link up with fundamentalist fighters while others have plotted jihad here in the US – with Capitol Hill among the targets for a foiled bombing raid.
Gunmen Elton Simpson, 30, and Nadir Soofi, 34, came perilously close on March 4 when they were shot dead while trying to storm a controversial ‘Draw Mohammed’ event in Garland, Texas.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the raid but officials suspect the pair were more likely radicalized over the web.
More recently six Somali men were charged in March with conspiracy to provide material support and attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.
The accused are Mohamed Abdihamid Farah, 21; Adnan Abdihamid Farah, 19; Abdurahman Yasin Daud, 21; Zacharia Yusuf Abdurahman, 19; Hanad Mustafe Musse, 19; and Guled Ali Omar, 20.
It is alleged that the six planned to fly out of Minneapolis, San Diego or New York to reach Syria to join up with ISIS….

We need $700m to upgrade refineries – Kachikwu

                                                                 Dr. Ibe Kachikwu

The Federal Government has said that it would need the sum of $700 million to upgrade the nation’s refineries to be able to perform up to 90 per cent capacity.
The Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, disclosed this on Saturday when he visited Eleme Local Government Area of River State for the re-commissioning of the crude line from Bonny to the Port Harcourt refinery.
Kachikwu explained that though Nigeria was currently not having such amount to upgrade the facilities, the country was embracing a creative way of bringing in investors.
“We are not inviting foreign partners to take over the refineries; we do not have the funds. Even now that they (refineries) are working, they are probably working at about 60 per cent capacity. We need to upgrade these refineries and let them develop to the point where they can perform up to 90 per cent capacity. Total investment for that is up to $700 million and we don’t have that (money). Let us be honest about it.
“So, the best thing to do is to find a very creative way to bring in investors, who will come in, work with our team here, who have the skills, reactivate and upgrade facilities in this place and help us provide technical support and they would be paid through the flow-out of the refined products over time. There is no confusion about what they are coming to do; they are not coming to run the refinery. They are coming to provide funds to take our performance on these refineries to 90 percent and to provide us with technical skills. So, the areas of intervention will be funding and technical support.”
Kachikwu apologised to Nigerians for the challenge being faced due to scarcity of fuel.
Explaining that the Federal Government was putting measures in place to tackle the problem of fuel scarcity, Kachikwu stated that the government was not going to give up on the issue.
