Russian warships visit Philippines

Two Russian warships arrived in the Philippines this week as Moscow looks to play a bigger role in the contested South China Sea.There were differing reports from Russian media as to the exact nature of the visit by the Russian destroyer Admiral Tributs and the sea tanker Boris Butomato, which arrived in Manila.

According to a report from Russia's state-run Sputnik News, Russian Navy Rear Adm. Eduard Mikhailov said the Russian ships would be conducting joint exercises with Philippine forces to fight maritime piracy and terrorism.
The Sputnik report termed the exercises "an unprecedented navy-to-navy contact" between Russia and the Philippines.

Janet Jackson has given birth to her first child

Dozens of congratulation messages have been started pouring in to Janet Jackson after she welcomed son Eissa from husband Wissam Al Mana.
Sister La Toya and nephew T.J. were the first ones to congratulate the 50-year-old hitmaker for becoming a first-time mother.
Representative of the singer issued a statement with the happy news and mentioning Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and she is presently resting comfortably.
Relatives of Rhythm Nation singer were fast to congratulate the couple on their new arrival. Toya shared a snap on Twitter saying, “How exciting! @JanetJackson, Jan and Wissam just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy!!! Congratulations!!!”
T.J. tweeted too the news of baby boy but named the new member wrong. He wrote, “Congrats Auntie @JanetJackson!!! So so happy for you & Wissan. Enjoy every minute with your greatest hit, Elissa (sic) #parenthoodisthebest.”
Singer Gloria Gaynor congratulated Janet on the birth of Eissa. She wished much happiness and joy to her.
