Court sentences Shiite to death

A Bahraini court sentenced a Shiite citizen to death and jailed 22 others for life Thursday for forming a “terrorist group” that killed two people, including a policeman. This is the second such ruling this week in the tiny Sunni-ruled Gulf kingdom, where members of the Shiite majority population have led an uprising.
The court also revoked the citizenships of the 23 convicts and fined two of them 200,000 dinars ($530,000/480,000 euros), terror crime prosecution chief Ahmed al-Hammadi said in a statement. Judicial sources said that all the defendants were Shiite and that 16 were tried in absentia, without giving further details.

Buhari on Biafra on marginalisation of Ndigbo

During the last Presidential media chat of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Muhammad Buhari made some statements and it was expository.
According to Buhari,
“They say they are marginalised but they have not defined the extent of marginalisation. Who is marginalising them? Where? Do you know? Choosing a minister is not a matter of ethnicity, it is a matter of the constitution. I am limited by what the constitution says that there must be a member of the executive council from each state. There is a lot of partisan politics in it. Who is the Minister of State for Petroleum? Is he not an Igbo? Who is the governor of the CBN? Is he not an Igbo? Who is the Minister of Labour? Who is the Minister of Science and Technology? What do they want? I stood elections and I won, I am limited by the constitution, I have a member of every state in the Federal Executive Council and I have to listen to them when I sit as chairman. That is the limit the constitution gave me”.

Akwa Ibom Governor Offers Scholarships To 186 Youths

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, has announced a total of 186 university scholarship awards to youths of the state.
 The Governor made the declaration on Wednesday while addressing thousands of youths at an interactive session in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital.
He said that the scholarship programme, which was part of his administration’s youth friendly policies, comprised of 31 undergraduate scholarships and 155 post-graduate scholarships.

The Ocean Bridge- The Chinese Model

This is the world's longest ocean bridge located in China. It spans 26 miles and took four years to build. It cost more than $1.5 billion to complete and has a life expectancy of 100 years. Now, ask our leaders to build this bridge in Nigeria and we will go bankrupt. Second Niger Bridge in Onitsha that is a mere 1.5 kilometers (about one mile) is costing over N100 billion naira, that is over $500 million dollars at N190 to $1. Nigerians, please let us invite China to come and build fourth mainland bridge in Lagos and other bridges and let us pay toll for 100 years. The same China built 30,000 megawatts of electricity at $29 billion. We have spent over $50 billion on darkness. Tomorrow somebody would argue that we are normal human beings. Chinese don't have mosques and churches scattered all over the place. They have no Imams, pastors, no 'men of God", no daddy and mummy GOs. Yet, many of us deceive ourselves "praying", "casting" and "binding", looking for miracles, hawking miracles, signs and wonders and thinking that one day "God will help us". Before you talk with an average Nigerian, he tells you "by God's grace". What that means, I do not know. We steal, cheat, kill, discriminate and on Fridays and Sundays, we flock to mosques and churches, paying 10 per cent of our loot to some funny characters called men of God.
May God have mercy on this nation.

Belgium Detains 6 People Over New Year's Eve Plot

Belgian police detained six people during house searches in Brussels on Thursday as part of an investigation into an alleged plot to carry out an attack in the capital on New Year's Eve.
Authorities on Wednesday called off the traditional New Year's Eve fireworks display in the capital, citing fears of a militant attack.
Police carried out searches at six locations in the Belgian capital and one just outside the city, seizing computers, mobile phones and equipment for airsoft, a sport involving guns that shoot non-lethal plastic pellets.
A judge was to decide later on Thursday whether the six detained people could be held further.
Two Belgian nationals arrested earlier this week and named as 30-year-old Said S. and 27-year-old Mohammed K., are being held on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack, prosecutors said. A court on Thursday extended their custody for a month.

Israel to open its first college for autistic students

Israel’s first college aimed specifically at students with autism, Asperger’s syndrome and complex learning disabilities is set to open in March 2016.
 

According to reports, the BE Academic College will be a collaboration between Beit Ekstein, an organization that provides services to people with a variety of learning and developmental disabilities, and the Open University, a distance-learning institution with branches throughout the country.

“Out of close familiarity with the world of graduates with learning disabilities comes the establishment of the BE Academic College, whose goal it will be to make academic learning possible by building a supportive and adapted curriculum,” Beit Ekstein said in a statement announcing the institution’s upcoming opening.

Storm 'Unfreezes' North Pole, Causing Temperatures to Rise 50 Degrees

A storm system that's recently brought extreme weather across the country also caused temperatures to rise about 50 degrees Fahrenheit above normal in the North Pole today.

The North Pole "unfroze" today, experiencing a temperature high of upwards 40 degrees Fahrenheit, a temperature that's "unheard of" in the area during winter months, according to meteorological reports. It’s usually minus 15 to minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit there at this time of year.

The storm system drawing warm air to the North Pole is the same one that caused recent tornadoes  in Texas, winter weather in the Midwest and heavy rain and flooding in the Mid- and Southeast

How To Prepare Your Face For That Flawless Makeover.

Hello everyone, today we shall be learning about how best to pamper our faces just before we apply our makeup products on.

Every makeup artist knows that a well prepared face allows effortless and flawless makeup application. Therefore, extra care must be taken to prepare the face in order to achieve a smooth application.

Here are some steps you need to follow to prepare your face; 

1. Cleanse your face

This step is very necessary to get rid of makeup residue and other forms of dirt on the skin. This enables you to have a clean “canvass” on which to work on. However, you need to get a good cleanser for your skin type. Either water-based or alcohol-based, getting the right cleanser is important for your skin. You can either use a cotton wool to apply on the face or use your fingertips, rubbing in circular motion across the face.



2. Exfoliate your skin

Purchase a good exfoliator with tiny particles, or better still make one at home (Sugar and Olive Oil). Rub on your face in circular motion to get rid of dead skin cells. Rinse with warm water and pat your face to dry.

Note: Do not rub your face vigorously at this time as this can damage your skin.



3. Moisturize your skin

Apply an appropriate moisturizer on your face to help replenish moisture lost during Cleansing and Exfoliation. It should contain a minimum of SPF 15 to help protect the skin from harmful sunrays during the day. The moisturizer should be pressed into the skin and not rubbed in.



4. Prime your face

This step is as important as the others before it, because it ensures the skin is even and ready for foundation application. It also helps the makeup stay on your face for as long as possible through the day. 

After carefully following these steps to prepare your face, wait at least 15 minutes before applying makeup. This is to allow the products seep into the skin, and give you the best results. 

Living a healthy lifestyle is also beneficial to your skin: Avoid smoking, excessive drinking and get enough sleep.
