7 Mental Shifts to Become a Millionaire

Image_12.28.15.jpgMoney is and has always been the driving force in business, and without it, nothing would be possible. While many of us dream about becoming a millionaire, we think it just comes with working hard. That may be true, but it also takes the right mentality to do it. In this article i am sharing 7 mental changes that he made in order to become a millionaire.
  1.     Age
Don’t let yourself use this as an excuse. Whether you’re 20 or 50 years old, we all have unique gifts that can be used to our advantage. Personal growth is not determined by an age, but rather the experiences that one encounters and what is learned from it.
  1.     You
Take the time to make yourself a better person. Think of your brain as a sponge and absorb as much information as possible to increase your knowledge. Don’t forget to spoil yourself once in awhile. Doing this will remind yourself why you are working so hard or what you did to get to that point.
  1.     Fatigue
Don’t sweat the small things. Use your focus and energy on what is really important and try to resolve any issues as quickly as possible. Conserving your mental energy from little things such as what you are going to wear to work, or eat for lunch, can be better served in the workplace.
  1.     Resilient
Staying focused at work is tough. so train yourself to work long stretches at a time. It’s easy to get distracted and go off on something not work related. Our minds are wired to gravitate towards what we find most appealing or fun. We all know work isn’t necessarily all fun, but bills have to get paid and food needs to be put on the table.
  1.     Big
At the end of the day, what do you want to accomplish? Remind yourself what goals you have made for this year or even later down the line. Keep them in a visible place as a reminder on what you are working towards.
  1.     Methods
Create a process. While marketing automation may generate mixed feelings, it helps save time and allows for more output. Generate a marketing plan that covers the different aspects to push throughout the week for months.
  1.     Believe
If you don’t believe in yourself then how will anyone else? Success starts with confidence. Being successful comes with working hard and not just having it all handed to you. Strive to reach your goals, whether they are short or long term.
While these 7 things may seem little, they can have a huge impact on your life later on. Becoming a millionaire will not occur overnight, but with discipline and will, it can happen before you know it.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: WHY WOMEN MUST SPEAK OUT

Image result for domestic violence battered woman cant speak out
Lots of women are been abused at home daily by their husbands, but they are not speaking out. Despite the fact that statistics validate this claim that many women were abused or kill everyday around the world, most Women still prefer to suffer in silence. Why they are not speaking out is a subject of another write up which I Titled: Domestic Violence: Why women are not talking.
Women ages 18 to 34 are said to be at greatest risk of becoming victims of domestic violence.
More than 4 million women experience physical assault and rape by their partners.
In 2 out of 3 female homicide cases, females are killed by a family member or intimate partner.
National coalition against domestic Violence in United States stated that:
Every 9 seconds in the US, a woman is assaulted or beaten.
On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of [some form of]physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime.
If the statistics can be this high in the US,what do you think is happening in developing countries, but yet you rarely see women speaking out.
Ladies, let me tell you reasons you must speak out when your husband is abusing you.
IT MAY STOP IF YOU SPEAK OUT
Speaking out may stop the abuse and put an end to it forever as most Men that beats their wife never want it to be reported to anybody that is why they do threaten that their women must not speak  out. So speak out
HELP MAY COME YOUR WAY: Speaking out may bring professional help your way and that of your husband, don’t keep quiet, speak out.
IT WILL CONTINUE IF YOU KEEP QUIET
Domestic violence has a higher rate of repeat victimisation than any other crime (UK Home Office, July 2002),If you keep quiet it will continue until you are injured physically and emotionally or even die.
BECAUSE OF YOUR HEALTH
Your health is at stake if you keep quiet. Many men do beat their wives into coma.A lady once told me how she fractured her hands as she was beaten by her husband. A lot of men do continue with the abuse even when their wives are pregnant. See these:
30% of domestic violence either starts or will intensify during pregnancy (Department of Health report, October 2004)
Foetal morbidity from violence is more prevalent than gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia (Friend, 1998)
Don’t keep your mouth shut, speak out.
IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE: If you keep quiet your death in that marriage will speak out,too bad it will be too late then. Don’t wait for corpse to do the announcement, speak out now.
IT MAY SAVE YOUR MARRIAGE: Speaking out may save your marriage, keeping quiet may destroy it,contrary to your thought that keeping quiet may save your marriage,Don’t use your life to defend your marriage, your life is more valuable than your marriage. Speak out.
IT IS FOOLISH TO KEEP QUIET: It will be too foolish to keep quiet when your life is been threatened In fact ,it will be one of the most foolish thing you will do to keep quiet, the man may kill you ;escape the law and marry another wife who will enjoy what you’ve suffered for.Don’t be foolish, speak out.
FOR THE PROTECTION OF YOUR CHILDREN
The health of your Children is at stake if you keep quiet in an abusive marriage,it was reported that 20% of children in the UK have been exposed to domestic abuse (Radford et al. NSPCC, 2011)
In 90% of domestic violence incidents in family households, children were in the same or the next room (Hughes, 1992)
Speak out to protect your children.
IT WILL SAVE YOUR SONS:
Speaking out will save the future of your Sons,If you don’t speak out; your Sons that witness this regularly will think that is the right way to handle a woman, hence he will become a wife beater
SPEAKING OUT WILL SAVE THE FUTURE OF YOUR DAUGHTER: If you don’t speak out and allow your Daughter to witness this show of shame regularly, sees you in tears often sees her trusted father behaving like tiger, she may think all Men are like that and grow up to hate Men,thereby hurting her family life.
IT IS THE WISEST THING TO DO: Speaking out is the wisest thing you can do. Your life is too precious to lose it to a riffraff, wisdom says speak to the right people, your counsellor, trusted friends, police,Violence against women NGOs,your pastor, your mentor, your family etc. by all means speak out, don’t keep quiet until the man send you to an untimely grave.

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie is to join the London School of Economics as a visiting professor on a new masters course.
The LSE said the course will be run by its Centre for Women, Peace and Security, launched last year by Ms Jolie and Lord William Hague.
The pair co-founded a global initiative to tackle sexual violence in conflict zones in 2012.
It followed a 2011 film Ms Jolie directed depicting the Bosnian war.
Her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey, was set against the backdrop of the 1992-95 Bosnian war in which an estimated 20,000 women were believed to have been raped.
"It is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women's rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict," Ms Jolie, a special envoy for the UN refugee agency, said.
"I am looking forward to teaching and to learning from the students, as well as to sharing my own experiences of working alongside governments and the UN."
The former foreign secretary Lord Hague will also be joining LSE as a visiting professor.

3 Actionable Ways to Become a Millionaire

Image result for Become a Millionaire
There are so many people today with their sights set on big financial goals for their future. More specifically, there are many individuals today who are looking for ways to become a millionaire. In fact, there is no end to the different types of approaches and suggestions out there that offer “theories” on becoming a millionaire. While theories are great, many aspiring millionaires need real action steps in order to find the success they have been looking for. While it isn’t always an easy road to reach this type of financial success, there are some very tangible action steps that individuals can take in order to become a millionaire.

1. Invest in yourself.

The old phrase “knowledge is power” is not one to be ignored. If you want to be a millionaire, then you need to really be able to invest in yourself and to educate yourself. How do you start and what do you educate yourself with? Start by writing down all of your hobbies and favorite things to do. From there, choose two or three that you want to dedicate yourself towards mastering within the next five to 10 years. The mastery of any one given subject is the key to making millions down the road.
Make sure you don’t just pick one hobby because you may not like it as much in the future as you do now, so you need to have a couple of safety options as well. As you start to educate yourself, you can then refine your skills based on what subjects you enjoy and what you have the most talent in. Really finding your niche and learning to master it is the key to getting started, and it is a real action step that you can actually take.

2. Learning how to budget and manage expenses.

If you have this skill early on, you can really go a long way on your road to becoming a millionaire. It isn’t a hard task to learn if you are willing to put some time into really honing your management skills. Read up on budget management or take an online course. From there, start tracking all of your spending. It doesn’t matter how much you are making, it matters that you are able to control what you are spending and what you are saving. There are so many people today, even celebrities and famous athletes that make hundreds of millions of dollars and they eventually go broke, it is because they don’t know how to budget. Learn this skill and you are setting yourself up for success.

3. Commit to learning about the business world.

You need to take the time to commit to learning about the business world and about investment opportunities. If you have a base knowledge of these key factors, you can really go far on your quest to become a millionaire. This means a real overall knowledge of real estate, mutual funds and stocks. Take the time to read up on guides likes these from Entrepreneur and ones like this one I created. While it may not be the most interesting thing in the world to learn about, it is important that you take your time to really immerse yourself in this world… think of it as your second job.
Once you have mastered this and learn how to invest conservatively and responsibility, you can have your savings work for you, while you sit back and do nothing. Passive income is really fantastic, and while it may not seem like a lot in the beginning, it can really add up over time.
If you really want to become a millionaire and want to be able to have the financial freedom you have always wanted, then you need to be willing to take action and make strong moves that will actually lead you towards the financial success you have always wanted.

6 Steps to Build a Strong Team

Image result for Build a Strong Team
Using words like “power” or “success” to describe a company can sometimes make it easy to imagine a cutthroat environment. However,  a competitive work place shouldn't run on employee's fear or feel like a real-life Hunger Games. A powerful and successful company operates best and with the most longevity when employees work with a team mentality, each filling a needed role and fulfilling long-term goals. Here’s what you can do to make sure your team is as strong as it can possibly be for your company.

1. Focus on roles.

A thorough selection process for picking your team members has greater long-term benefits, even if this means you spend more time recruiting than you’d like to. Hiring someone just to have bodies in the room can harm your team. Companies that do this wind up becoming a revolving door, whether it’s because prospective employees see the role as a temporary landing pad and are less interested in learning, or because you decide later on that they aren’t the right fit. This winds up costing you more money in the long run. Investing your time and money in people who truly specialize in the role your company needs will have immense payoffs later.

2. Value each role.

With each team member bringing something special to the table, treating each role as an essential part of your operation is also crucial. Each team member should feel like their job matters, without ever asking themselves, “Why am I even here?” It’s no secret that a sense of purpose helps each employee’s performance. When employees feel that their role is undervalued or perhaps unnecessary, it can become easy to check out mentally as work becomes mechanical and something they completely detach from as soon as the day is over.

3. Communicate.

The best way to demonstrate value between team members is through communication. It’s difficult to feel like you are part of a team when everybody has information that hasn’t been shared with you yet or when team members don’t fill each other in on what they’re working on. Keep a level of transparency whenever possible with all team members, even if the information doesn’t directly pertain to every person on your team.
Apps like Slack are making it easier to do this without having to think about it. An open line of communication helps your team members to share and create a more productive workflow. Having a weekly check-in or talking beyond discussions of to-do lists can bring great new ideas to the surface or will give someone a chance to help in an area they may not have known about otherwise. “Developing processes and workflows that can be quickly implemented, executed and tracked is crucial to managing your team, especially when faced with rapid growth," according to Hiawather Walker, Founder of DENEKA DesignCo. "This is typically the first thing I look to address so more time and energy can be spent on the things there is little to no control over.”
In the area of communication, your team should also guve each member a voice . Letting the whole team weigh in on feedback and asking for their opinion also helps them to stay engaged and brings them closer to projects. When every team member takes the time to evaluate a decision and form an opinion, they’re attached to the outcome and want to know that their thoughts are considered in the process. Allowing this gives people a feeling of ownership over their work, leading to better performance.

4. Set goals.

Setting short and long-term goals with your team also becomes the foundation for every task they set out to complete each day. Being enthusiastic about the outcome and motivating each other with positive reinforcement will help your team members to make sure that they work with a sense of the big picture, knowing why every task they do is necessary for achieving a longer-term goal. It’s important to note that these goals should be realistic so that you and your team don’t feel like you are working for a lost cause. Having milestones and deadlines can give team members opportunities to help each other out and band together for success.

5. Celebrate successes and failures.

Celebrating your successes and milestones also brings your team together and allows everyone to see that when they work together, great things can happen. If someone does a great job at something, give them a shout out in front of the rest of the team so that every effort is seen and appreciated. This also helps each person to feel visible and that what they’re doing has an impact. In contrast, if your team fails at something, come together to redirect your efforts or turn it into something positive. Don’t throw anyone under the bus or turn a damage-control discussion into a blame game. This never helps anybody. Instead, give your team equal responsibility to put your heads together and figure out the next steps or pivots.

6. Know each other.

You are, of course, never obligated to become best friends on a personal level with your team members. But having a monthly outing or engaging in some offsite socializing can give team members a chance to appreciate one another for more than just the job they do. Getting to know the people you work with helps you understand their style of work and how to have constructive discussions with them on tough days.

Mohamed Nasheed: Former Maldives president 'given UK asylum'

                                   Image result for Mohamed Nasheed
The former president of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, has been granted refugee status in the UK, according to his lawyer.
Nasheed, the opposition leader, was controversially jailed for 13 years under anti-terror laws last year.
He was allowed to travel to the UK to receive treatment on his spine.
His lawyer Hasan Latheef said Nasheed had been granted political refugee status, but the British government has not commented.
A former human rights campaigner, Nasheed became the nation's first democratically elected leader in 2008, ending three decades of rule by former strongman Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
In 2012, he was detained after being accused of ordering the arrest of a judge. He resigned months later amid an army mutiny and public protests over the judge's fate.
Nasheed alleged that he had been removed by a coup, but this was denied by his vice-president, who replaced him.
The current President, Abdulla Yameen, was elected in controversial polls in 2013 and is the half-brother of Mr Gayoom.
"Given the slide towards authoritarianism in the Maldives, myself and other opposition politicians feel we have no choice but to work in exile - for now," said a statement issued by Nasheed's office on Monday.
The Maldives foreign ministry said it feared Nasheed had used the request for medical treatment as a way to get out of his prison term.
It said the government was awaiting confirmation asylum had been granted. If confirmed, the Maldives government "would be disappointed the UK government is allowing itself to be part of this charade, and further, is enabling an individual to circumvent his obligations under the law", the statement said.

Greek police evacuate hundreds from Idomeni refugee camp

Image result for Greek police evacuate hundreds from Idomeni refugee camp
Greek authorities sent hundreds of police into the country's largest informal refugee camp Tuesday to support the gradual evacuation of the Idomeni site on the Macedonian border.
The left-led government has pledged that police will not use force, and says the operation is expected to last about a week to 10 days. Journalists were blocked from covering inside the camp
By about midday 23 buses carrying a total 1,110 people had left Idomeni, heading to new refugee camps in northern Greece, police said, while earth-moving machinery was used to clear abandoned tents. No violence was reported.
Vicky Markolefa, a representative of the Doctors Without Borders charity, said the operation was proceeding "very smoothly" and without incident. "We hope it will continue like that," she said.
The camp, which sprang up at an informal pedestrian border crossing for refugees and migrants heading north to wealthier European nations, was home to an estimated 8,400 people — including hundreds of children — mostly from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.
At its peak, when Macedonia shut its border in March, the camp housed more than 14,000, but numbers have declined as people began accepting authorities' offers of alternative places to stay.

9 Rules of Open-Office Etiquette

                                     Image result for Open-Office Etiquette
Nowadays, many entrepreneurs choose not to rent a large office space. Rather, many enterprises work in a spare bedroom, garage, basement or another one- or two-room office space. Many cost-conscious business owners are even opting for an open-office plan where multiple staff members work together in a large room.
It would be ideal if each person could have his or her private office, but that is often unrealistic and extremely costly. Therefore, to create peace and harmony a few rules of etiquette should be observed.

1. Respect another’s need to work.

Just because others are sitting nearby doesn’t mean they are available for conversation at all times. Respect one another’s privacy. Act as if there is a door between you and if they appear to be busy, ask if they have a moment to talk.

2. Be aware of smells.

Within a tight space smells can be magnified, so use consideration when packing your lunch or snacks. Try to eat meals in the kitchen, break room or outside, rather than at your desk. Since many people have allergies to scents, forgo wearing perfumes, cologne or strong after shave to the office. Pay attention to your personal grooming as well. Unfortunately, common sense is not so common anymore.

3. Keep noise and distractions to a minimum.

Noisy conversations (either between workers or on the telephone) or habits such as tapping on the desk, fidgeting or getting up and down often can create an annoying distraction to those trying to concentrate. If you want to listen to music, podcasts or videos, use headphones or ear buds.

4. Be tidy.

Your messy desk can be a distraction to others and will detract from the professional image your organization is trying to establish. Keep your belongings confined to your own personal space and tidy up your immediate area each day before leaving work. If you share a desk, be sure to clear away any personal items like coffee cups and office supplies.

5. Respect another’s space.

Just because another’s workspace is within reach of your desk doesn’t make it common domain. Treat each person’s space as if it was a private office. Do not help yourself to anything on their desk or in their area. Ask first or go to the supply closet if you need a pen or a stapler.

6. Don’t come to work sick.

When you work in close quarters, it is easy to transfer germs. Stay home if you are sick. It’s good hygiene to cover your mouth when you cough, keep hand sanitizer on hand, don’t leave used tissues around, and wipe down the desk, computer keyboard and phone from time to time to help prevent germs from spreading.

7. Be considerate.

Respect is key when working in an open-office environment. Act respectful and expect others to act in the same way. Set rules of conduct and reiterate boundaries when they are crossed. It’s best to address problems and concerns directly and diplomatically before they escalate.

8. Be tolerant.

The open-office environment brings together myriad personalities, with different styles. Be tolerant of these differences and find ways to adapt. Everyone is not going to agree with you one hundred percent of the time. Keep an open mind, listen with the intent to learn and focus on the positive aspects of your job.

9. Think like a team.

In order to maintain a cohesive team, do not spread gossip, cause another to feel like an outcast, or grumble about petty things. Hold regular meetings to set goals, share ideas and talk about concerns.
