IGBETI TOWN IN OYO STATE: Rich but poor

Image result for marbles in the ground
Igbeti  town in Igbeti Local Government Area of  Oyo State is noted for its richness in mineral resources, especially in  marbles. Unfortunately, these resources remain untapped.

Igbeti, located in the northern part of Oyo State, is a purely agrarian town. On entering the ancient town, one is welcomed by rustic buildings and the huge rocks. Conspicuously displayed are huge billboards proclaiming: ‘Welcome to Marble City’. It is also called ‘Onile oye’. The town is called ‘Marble City’ because almost all its land is rich in marbles. It derives its ‘Onile oye’ (the land of winter) tag from its endless its cool weather. In the afternoon when the sun is at its peak, the weather is cool, and it becomes colder during the winter period because of the marble deposits in the land. Residents always wear thick cover clothes to drive the cold away.
According to some of the chiefs, during the harmattan, especially from November to January, the town becomes cold and chilling. Igbeti is home to all ethnic groups as it does not discriminate. At the Sabo, one could find the Hausa man selling suya and the Ibo doing business of selling spare parts.
Standing majestically are mountainous rocks surrounding the town. According to Adebayo Rasaq, a cell phone engineer who used the marble to line the stairs leading into his shop, “We just see marble as ordinary stone; we don’t attach much value to it. We pick them like fowls here. This marble you are seeing fell from a truck and I used it here as a step into my shop. We learnt this is of great value when they are taken away from this place but of what use are they for us when no building uses it here?”
A neglected goldmine
We all know what marble is used for.Oyo State Nigeria is full of marbles but they are blind to see that they are in the midst of marbles.

In the midst of plenty,Nigeria is Blind

I am sad.I decided to use this title above because one of my followers from India sent me an article and i cried.
Imagine,an Indian is telling me what i know a bit about my nation but for him to now know more than me is worrisome.
Nigeria is endowed with large deposites of mineral resources, located in everypart of Nigeria but we only focus on oil.that is a lamentation.
We are a religios nation but Poverty in the midst of abundance is an irony characterizing my Nigeria.
Nigeria is a nation blessed with human and natural resources but where do we stand?
If the United States of America have everything we have,America is made.
Economists, geologists and surveyors all over the world have come to NIGERIA and they have long agreed that under the Nigerian soil are wealth and riches untold But majority of Nigerians are wallowing in poverty because they are blind to se that they are standing on top of a gold mine.. The Nigerian Extractive Industries and Transparency Initiative, NEITI report suggests that there are about 40 different kinds of solid minerals and precious metals buried in Nigerian soil waiting to be exploited. The commercial value of Nigeria's solid minerals has been estimated to run into hundreds of trillions of dollars, with 70 per cent of these buried in the bowels of Northern Nigeria.

About the Lagos you dont know

Image result for lagos is beautiful
"1. Lagos was already developed before the FG picked Lagos as the FG and they picked Lagos state for obvious reasons, Lagos was already developed.
2. Lagos was already a developed entity even before Nigeria's became a country and before independence.
3. Lagos as the Federal capital was confined to Lagos island and not anything beyond cater bridge. Learn some social studies..
4. All the industrial estates in Lagos from ikeja industrial estate to Apapa industrial estate to Mushin, Matori, and Ilupeju industrial estates that developed Lagos state and made Lagos the commercial capital of Nigeria and west Africa were built by the western region under Awolowo and these industrial estates are still responsible for major chunks of Nigerian's industrial activities, goods and services. They were not in Lagos Island or built by the FG and they were even built before independence and Nigeria as a country.
5. FG did not do anything special for Lagos and in fact, they built 3 bridges and some worthless and neglected places like the national stadium in surulere and last time I checked, the FG built bridges and airports in other states so what's special about Lagos?
6. Lagos is what it is today and most importantly since 1999 because of good and credible leadership with strong managerial skills, good foresight and vision and not the FG.
7. To show you the meaning of great leadership with vision and foresight in Lagos, the Metro rail we are constructing now was under construction back in the 80s before it was terminated, but guess what, Lagos leaders from then till now did not give up and it's coming into fruition.
8. The first IPP in Nigeria was undertaken by Tinubu in Lagos and if the worthless and useless PDP FG didn't sabotage that 2721MW which is still active till today, we won't have power issues in Lagos and Nigeria. It's leadership and foresight.."

Image result for Underwater Discoveries That Will Make Your Jaw Drop!
The ocean covers 80% of our world. It’s estimated that to date humans have explored less than 5 percent of the entire world’s water. Considering that for centuries travel by water was our primary mode of transportation over long distances, it’s reasonable to assume there are hundreds, maybe thousands of interesting things, treasures, and creatures that lie undiscovered in the vast expanse of the oceans.
But as we continue to search this great unexplored expanse, humans have made some astounding discoveries. Some of the things here are ancient, some new (relatively speaking), but all are jaw-droppingly cool.
