CAPTIVE MOVIE PREMIER

Purpose starts from where we are, in our little worlds and mundane existence. We should not complain about our place in life. Instead, we can take a step of faith, connect with other people, and deal with the situations life throws on our seemingly unimpoprtant lives.David Oyelowo during a Katie Couric interview said “something about a meth addict and a murderer in an apartment for seven hours produced something good for her [Ashley Smith’s] life. I could not shake off the miraculous nature of that.”
We are all broken and none of us are qualified for the grace of God. Captive depicts how God has a purpose for every life. He can bring out something good out of even the most hopeless and downtrodden people, totally transforming lives.
The greatest stories are not the ones that were rehearsed or well thought out. They happen when we allow God to use our brokenness to bring out good in others and alter their lives irrevocably. In the end, the greatest tragedy in this life is not a hopeless criminal or a pot head, but a life lived without purpose.
