Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, has summoned the
Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over the kidnap of two German
archaeologists, Prof. Peter Breunig and Johannes Behringer in Kaduna.
The men were abducted in the Kadarko Local Government Area
of the State.
It is understood that the IG of Police briefed Osinbajo on
efforts made so far by police to rescue the victims unhurt and apprehend the
kidnappers.
The police had since dispatched a team of Special Police
Forces and Police Investigators to work together with the Kaduna Police Command
and indigenes of towns and surrounding villages where the Germans were
kidnapped.
A statement signed by Force spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, said:
“The team is already on the ground working in synergy with the Kaduna State
Police Command and the local indigenes of towns and surrounding villages where
these German Archaeologists were kidnapped.
