Aisha Augie-Kuta:The making behind Meermaad Networks

Aisha Augie-Kuta (born 11 April 1980) in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria, is the daughter to Late Senator Adamu Baba Augie (politician/broadcaster), and Justice Amina Adamu Augie (JCA). She became interested in photography when her father gave her a camera at a young age.She is a Nigerian photographer and filmmaker based in Abuja. She is a conservative Muslim and hausa/fulani from Argungu local government in northern Nigeria. She won the award for Creative Artist of the year at the 2011 Future Awards.

She is the CEO of Meermaad Networks. She studied Mass Communication at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria; MSc in Media and communication at the Pan African University, Lagos (Now Pan Atlantic University); Certificate in Digital Filmmaking from The New York Film academy and also a Certificate in curating contemporary art exhibitions from the Chelsea College of art and design, London, UK.

2011: Nominated for 2011 Female photographer of the year, ELOY Awards
2012: Nominated for the Abuja Young Entrepreneurs award for Media and Art
2013: Nominated for the Abuja Young Entrepreneurs award for Media and Art
2014: Winner, British Council 'Through-my-eyes' competition
2014: Sisterhood Award for 'photographer of the year'


She is happily married with three children.
