Arts & Culture Exchange with Su’eddie Agema and Bash Amuneni

The Sankofa Initiative invites you to the May edition of her Arts and Culture Exchange program coming up on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Practical Theatre, Department of Theatre Arts, University of Ibadan, Ibadan. Su’eddie Vershima Agema, joint-winner of the 2014 Association of Nigerian Author’s Prize for Poetry and author of the collection of short stories, The Bottom of Another Tale and Bash S. Amuneni, author of the new poetry collection, There is a Lunatic in Every Town will be our special guests.

The event will commence at 2pm with readings and performances as our guests share from their body of creative works. This will be followed by an interactive session centred on the backstories behind their works as well as their knowledge of the creative process with an intent to contribute to the development of young writers and emerging culture practitioners. There will also be a book signing session and books will be available for sale at the book stand.

Curated by the Sankofa Initiative for Culture and Development, Arts and Culture Exchange is a platform for the revival of a vibrant reading culture, the promotion of creative expressions in the arts and deepening civic engagement amongst the nation’s youths. Incorporating the ideals of artistic erudition with the innovations of performance practice and contemporary culture, Arts and Culture Exchange offers an eclectic mix of creative dexterity from leading and emerging culture practitioners and thought leaders in Nigeria. Book readings, poetry performances, music renditions, drama, art exhibitions, panel discussions and workshops are creatively fused together to make each edition a memory to be relished.
