Top 6 Controversies Involving Former Governor Amaechi
Former governor of Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi became more popular when he pitched tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC), abandoning his kinsman from the Niger Delta region, Goodluck Jonathan, the former president of Nigeria.
One thing about the former governor is that he is someone who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Let’s take a look at some of the controversies that Amaechi has been involved in.
1. Election as governor:
His being a governor in 2007 was not attained on a platter of gold. It was rather a product of grueling legal encounter. Amaechi had won the PDP governorship primaries in Rivers state and was about standing for election when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the influence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, had substituted his name with that of his cousin, Celestine Omehia. Omehia contested the election in his place and won.
2. Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) Crisis:
In 2013, Amaechi was re-elected as chairman of the Forum. He had won with 19 votes to defeat his main challenger, former Plateau state governor, Jonah Jang, who had 16 votes.
The NGF was thrown into crisis when the 16 mainly PDP governors rejected the outcome of the election and went on to form a faction of the NGF. While a group of governors said Amaechi was their elected chairman, others, made up of mainly Jonathan loyalists, claimed that Jang was the chairman.
3. His aircraft grounded:
In June 2014, Amaechi’s chartered jet was prevented from leaving Kano International Airport by Nigerian Airspace Management Agency. The former governor had gone to the state to pay a condolence visit to the then governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso over the death of the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero
Also, the chartered aircraft that brought the ex-governor to Akure, the capital of Ondo state, was grounded on the orders of federal aviation authorities.
4. Soldiers ambushed him:
The ex-governor was ambushed by security operatives in Ado-Ekiti on his way to attend the final rally of his party, the APC, ahead of the governorship election in the state. Speaking to newsmen in Lagos the ex-governor said the soldiers who were acting on ‘order from above’, physically harassed and threatened to kill him.Recounting his ordeal, he said he had landed safely at Akure airport and on his way to Ado Ekiti, he sighted about 15 soldiers, who corked their guns and took positions as soon as they saw him.
5. Controversy with Patience Jonathan:
The feud between Patience and Amaechi is no longer news. In 2014, Amaechi claimed that Patience was angry with him because he refused to share Rivers state money with her. According to him she had asked that state funds be corruptly shared with her but he refused.
In his words: “The quarrel between me and the wife of the President is because she said I should bring your money, Rivers people money and share with her.”
6. Controversy on the Looted governor’s house in Rivers:
Barely 48 hours after he was inaugurated as the fifth governor of Rivers state, maechi’s successor, Nyesom Wike announced that it will take him up to three months before he could enter into Government House, Port Harcourt, as a result of the level of looting of furniture, facilities and cars by the past administration of Amaechi. He alleged that an inspection of the Government House, Port Harcourt revealed that all the bullet proof doors, furniture, crested carpets, curtains and windows had been stolen by the former administration.
9 signs you're with the person you should marry
1. After being on holiday, you miss him when you're back to work
Rather than being glad of the space, you genuinely feel like you've been apart for years after leaving the house at different times in the morning and getting back to your normal routine without him by your side 24/7.
Rather than being glad of the space, you genuinely feel like you've been apart for years after leaving the house at different times in the morning and getting back to your normal routine without him by your side 24/7.
2. He does little chivalrous things for you that really countDespite his equally hungover state, he doesn't hesitate to pull on his jeans and go to the corner shop to buy things for you that you're desperately craving for.
3. You can't imagine the idea of having to go on a date with someone elseWhat would you talk about? Would he let you have some of this chips? And more than half of the pudding? It would just be too stressful.
4. Even when you don't like him, you love himHe might not always say or do the right thing (but then again, neither do you) but even when he comes back from watching the football reeking of cider and trying to tell you about how amazing Rooney is, you still love him. Even if you wished he would just leave you alone and let you sleep.
5. He's the first person you want to text or tell when ANYTHING happens in your life
You tell him everything no matter how small, and he does the same to you. Your whatsapp thread is full of random sentences / pictures that mean something to the both of you...
6. You've talked about your plans and are on the same page
Sure, you both know that you love to lie in and watch a rerun of Take Me Out on a Saturday but if you don't know if he doesn't want kids either, or if he too wants to live in a house in the city for five years at least, then you don't know shit.

7. You can plan the distant future together
Oh hey, wanna go see Lee Evans at the o2 in March 2016? Sure! Planning the future with each other in mind without even thinking about it or worrying that you won't make it that long is a clear sign your brains have already locked in for life.

You can become a skillful husband
Most women think their husbands should know everything about sex and most men even believe that about themselves. This way, there is no room for improvement. Sex is an art which can be learnt and improved on. In the bedroom, you have an option to either be a shallow husband or a skillful husband. Come with me as I elaborate on how you can be a skillful husband of a happy wife.
Strategy 1
A skillful husband knows that the mind is the strongest sex organ of his wife; hence, he is devoted to meeting her emotional needs.
Strategy 2
A skillful husband is a total husband, a real man. He loves his wife not because of sex, but because of her person. He will do everything to show his woman that he cares.
Strategy 3
A skillful husband will do everything to defend, protect and provide for his wife.
Strategy 4
A skillful husband will not rape his wife but knows how to work on her to get her in the mood.
Strategy 5
A skillful husband is selfless in bed. In fact, he focuses on the enjoyment of his wife.
Strategy 6
A skillful husband is not angry when his wife is not available for sex. Rather, he faces it maturely, meeting the needs of his wife.

“But, in order to execute works on a project we need the input of architect, quantity surveyors, structural engineer and we have consulting ministries.
“For civil works it is the Ministry of Works, for science it is the Ministry of Science and Technology among others.
“As far as the website contract is concerned, yes there was a contract. It went through procurement and was approved by the government agency authorised to do so.
“It was for all these services that the contract was issued for N78m, which the Lagos State Procurement Agency gave no objection based on the advice of the Ministry of Science and Technology, who are the government’s adviser on ICT matters.”
While the woman is called a thief and vilified for an expense that if analysed is properly priced and paid for through a bank, the man is celebrated as a hero for spending a ridiculous amount on a website by the All Progressives Congress (APC) crowd.

The story of the abducted girls, now the story for the gods
The story of the girls abducted in the beautiful land of Chibok seems to have escaped our subconscious.
My thoughts have been; When will these girls return?
During the campaigns, President Buhari and his team promised to #BringBackOurGirls in 100days as the previous administration was deemed incompetent in this regard.
It is quite appalling that after the emergence of the President, little or no attention have been paid to the rescue of these girls.
The most disappointing action is the way Nigerians politicized the kidnap during the last administration and now, we have all gone quiet like the girls are back.
Their mothers would have thought that these group of people love them, not knowing that they only used them as a means to their own personal ends.
They were also instigated by the power hungry members of the All Progressives Congress to visit media houses crying about their missing children and have now become silent!
If these girls don't return by December as promised by the Buhari government, then competence is also lacking with this government.
In Nigeria today, the rich care about the rich and the poor find a way to survive, if it were to be the daughters of Buhari, Amaechi and tinubu that were abducted, they would obviously would have been found!
Another painful part is that when issues like this arises, we prefer to use it to sell cheap propaganda against one political party instead of fighting this issue as one and proffering possible solutions.
The campaign to #BringBackOurGirls has become dull, even Mitchell Obama has stopped her advocacy, cyber goats have all gone into extinction.
I urge all well meaning Nigerians to continue this campaign until these girls return to their respective homes or is this now the stories for the gods.
BringBackOurGirls
A secured Nigeria should be our priority.
