US-Saudi launches aggression warplanes,kills four civilians

The US-Saudi aggression warplanes launched on Monday eight raids on several areas of Sa'ada province.

A security official told Saba that the aggression coalition warplanes launched a raid on the area of al-Mezalah in Al-Zaher district, and two raids on al-Aqaba in Maran area in Haidan district.
He pointed out that the enemy aircrafts launched three raids on Shada district, and two raids on areas of Mandaba and Al-Baha in the district of Baqem.

The raids caused heavy damage to citizens' houses and their properties.

America’s Pentagon Conducts Additional Strikes in Yemen

The US military conducted additional strikes in Yemen targeting members of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) terror group, US Department of Defense spokesperson Capt. Jeff Davis said in a briefing on Monday.

Last week, US Air Force's strikes killed six al-Qaeda terrorists in Yemen.
"We conducted a strike on April 18… that was against three AQAP terrorists, and an additional strike yesterday, April 23… that strike was against eight AQAP terrorists," Davis told reporters.
"Since February 28, we conducted more than 80 precision strikes against AQAP militants, infrastructure, fighting positions and equipment in Yemen."

 On January 29, President Donald Trump’s administration ordered its first military raid against the al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) terror group in Yemen, which is banned in Russia. It resulted in the death of Navy SEAL Ryan Owens.
During the operation, US special operations forces killed 14 militants as well as civilians, including the eight-year-old daughter of previously assassinated al-Qaeda leader Anwar Awlaki. They US military also experienced an aircraft crash-landing. According to media reports, the operation's goal was to capture or kill the group's leader Qassim Rimi, who is considered the third most dangerous terrorist in the world and a master recruiter. However, he survived.

The AQAP was established in 2009 and has been condemned as a terrorist organization by the United States, Russia and many other nations.

German Vice Chancellor commemorates Holocaust Memorial Day

German Minister for Foreign Affairs and Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel, who arrived in Israel on Monday, said: "to commemorate the Holocaust Memorial Day, I remind Germany's historic responsibility for the Holocaust and the crimes of the Second World War.


"This very responsibility serves as a guideline for us and an obligation to take action against anti-Semitism and for human dignity. I stand here in Israel in silence, facing the deep void of the Holocaust and a nation that reached out to us despite it."

Courier Plus launches operations in Nairobi

Nigeria based logistics and distribution firm Courier Plus has opened a Nairobi branch as it mulls expanding to other countries in the region to sate the growing demand for logistical services.
The company is targeting key sectors including financial, mining, manufacturing, telecoms, pharmaceutical, tea and apparel industries with its services.
Courier Plus has a presence in more than 200 countries where it offers goods in transit insurance, delivery services, and packaging and air, road and sea freight services.

The firm has already put in place machinery to carry out large-scale inland projects, for instance, those involving transportation of huge consignment of products and materials.

Obanikoro and Wife looses at High Court

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday struck out a suit by a former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, against the EFCC over its seizure of his properties.
The other applicants are Mr. Obanikoro’s wife, Fati; his sons Gbolahon and Babajide; and his wife, Moroophat.
Mr. Obanikoro and his family had sued the commission through their lawyer, Lawal Pedro, seeking a court’s declaration that the forceful seizure of their personal effects constitutes a gross violation of their rights.
The applicants had prayed the court for an order to set aside the forceful seizure of their properties on June 14, 2016.
They had demanded an “unreserved public apology”, as well as seeking the award of N100million as general damages against the commission, as well as an order restraining the EFCC from arresting them or entering their premises again to seize their properties.
Besides, the applicants had also raised queries on the mode of execution of the search warrant; on grounds of irregularities, and had urged the court to declare the searches conducted therefrom, as unlawful.
Meanwhile, the EFCC (respondent) had opposed the application urging the court to strike it out for lack of merit.

Emir Sanusi admits spending N3.4 billion in less than 3 years

The Emirate Council of Kano State has dismissed spending N6 billion of the emirate but admitted to have spent N3.4 billion since Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II took over office in June 2014.

Addressing a press conference in Kano on Monday, the senior council official in charge of finance, Bashir Wali, who doubles as the Walin Kano, told journalists that the emirate had only spent N3.4 billion.

Wali further made some details available on the expenditure and revealed that the Emir inherited N2.9 billion (exactly N2.895,165,43.77) and not N4 billion as stated in some media reports.
