5 WAYS TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION IN AN INTERVIEW

1. Be positive
Avoid negativity at all costs. Even if you hated your last boss or company, try to put a positive spin on things. Right before a meeting try to think about your accomplishments to boost your confidence. Emotions are highly infectious, and the secret to making someone feel an emotion is to feel it yourself first. So make sure you keep any negativity out of the conversation! If your own positivity is strong enough it will make it very difficult for the other person not to feel this vibe themselves.

2. Better Posture
Good posture is important because it communicates confidence. But you need to do more than simply stand up straight (although that’s a good start). 90 per cent of your communication comes through your body language and paralinguistics ( voice tonality and pitch). Consequently, it is crucial to make these aspects as confident as possible when making your first impression.

3. Dress Properly
People will judge you long before you open your mouth. As soon as you walk into the room, all eyes will be on you, so dressing right is essential. A good suit speaks a thousands words. If it’s a job interview, make sure it’s simple, clean and well ironed. Your grooming, your hair style and the other ways you can determine your appearance from the neck up also exert an inordinate influence on the way that you are perceived, on your ethos with someone.

4. Smile
Smiling is one of the simplest yet most effective ways to make a great first impression. It immediately helps put the other person at ease and is a great way to bring a relaxed vibe to the interaction. Starting an interaction with a smile always gets the best results.

5. A Firm Handshake
That split second opportunity to establish yourself as confident and capable before you’ve even opened your mouth is lost the moment you enter the room looking petrified and presenting a hand with all the verve and vigour of a dead fish. And if you suffer from nervously sweaty hands, deal with this before you walk into the room.

The engineer Dawiet, manager of port operations, instead explains how it will change the entire port infrastructure: "We will leave the old port at the service of the old town of Massawa, because this part will have its new tourist destination and because this will be the area departure to the beautiful islands Dahlak. The new port area, which ultimeremo during 2016, instead will be made subservient to the refrigeration industry and the shipping departments primarily of mineral products from the Bisha mine. "

In industrial terms for the revival of Massawa an important role also plays the cement Gedem, placed at the south end of the bay on which overlooks the town, about ten kilometers from the center. A modern plant, operated by qualified personnel with Eritrean machinery once again Chinese. Gedem is the largest plant in the country and has a high strategic value because it is the first source of supply of cement for all work (primarily roads, dams and houses) that the government of Isaias Afewerki has started and is completing .

Given the growth of construction activities in Eritrea, Gedem company is rapidly growing and is one of those complexes in which international investors could usefully work on the model already successfully tested in Bisha Mine, the largest mining area of the country, where the government Asmara has closed a deal with the Canadian Nevsun, leaving them 60 percent of the share capital and the control of activities.

But the real jewel in the eye of Massawa is the old city. The buildings are of exceptional beauty. Despite the signs of aging and the Ethiopian bombings the center has retained its charm. Shine architectures Italian of those who were once the headquarters of the Bank of Italy, the Governor's Palace or hotels like the Grand Hotel Torino. You can run in peace and admire the decadent charm, revealing virtually everywhere the signs of the presence of Italian architects.

The project is to recover all the historic buildings of Massawa and bring them back to their original splendor. This is because the plan to revive the country's tourism this city plays a key role for its inherent charm and its geographical location which allows it to be the gateway to the Dahlak Islands, an archipelago pristine yet to be discovered.

"They are wonderful islands placed in the middle of the Red Sea – explains Marilena Sweet, head of Live Eritrea, an independent site that is the reference of the Eritreans in Italy and tells the changes in a country marching towards normal – there is still everything to do. The largest hotel in Massawa is already an Italian. But the Dahlak is all to be developed. For those who want to invest in new destinations here are opportunities to be seized. "

The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari will, in a matter of days, re-launch the War Against Indiscipline and Corruption.

He further explained that another campaign against corruption would also be unveiled shortly after the commencement of the “Change Begins With Me’’ programme.
Aware that some members of BON are privately-owned outfits that need to make money to remain afloat, the minister argued that they could only carry out their operations when the nation is at peace.

The prolific Borussia Dortmund forward, who received 143 votes to four-time winner Toure's 136, is the first player from the central African country to win the award.

His accolade comes despite a year without trophy success. He was captain of the Gabon team eliminated in the first round of the African Nations Cup finals in Equatorial Guinea at the start of 2015 and his club finished seventh in the Bundesliga last season.

But he did score 29 Bundesliga goals in 2015, including 18 this season plus a further seven in the Europa League. He is the first Bundesliga-based player to win the annual award first introduced in 1970.

“His potency in front of goal has seen him become one of the most recognisable strikers in Europe this season,” said his citation.

“I thank the people of Gabon, this award is for them. I want to thank my team mates in the national team and also at Dortmund. It is their work that helps me to score goals. For the parents of the youth of Africa, please give your kids a chance to realise their dreams,” Aubameyang said in his acceptance speech.

Biafran struggle: Ohanaeze rejects Kanu’s approach

The Secretary General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr. Joe Nwaorgu, says the approach of the founder of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, to the perceived marginalisation of the Igbo is unacceptable.
Nwaorgu said Kanu’s strategies to correct the alleged imbalance were at variance with that of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo which believed that the problems could be resolved within the country and not through violence.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Thursday, Nwaorgu, however, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to consider releasing Kanu unconditionally.
He said Kanu has not issued any apology to Igbo leaders over his comments about them.
He said, “Kanu’s solution to the Biafran matter is different from ours and not acceptable to us. Kanu and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo are operating on different sides of the coin. He and the youths believe in going out to the streets to protest. Kanu’s despondency is much deeper than ours. I am not trying to justify his method but we demand his unconditional release.”
Nwaorgu said the Ohanaeze Ndigbo was not satisfied with President Muhammadu Buhari’s performance so far.
He said apart from the fight against corruption, the Buhari administration should try to entrench equity and justice.
He added, “For us that witnessed the civil war, our approach now is that Nigeria’s problems can be solved within Nigeria and by Nigerians. Ohanaeze will not support secession and violence. This is why we are agitating that the 8th National Assembly implements the confab report evolved during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. This includes the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference. The National Assembly must not fail us.
“What we are fighting for in the present dispensation is that the wickedness of over 35 years after the civil war should be corrected. “Justice and equity must be the hallmarks of the new government. We maintain our stand that the confab report should be implemented.”
