QUALITY WELFARISM: A PANACEA FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE(a case study of moshood abiola poly)

Helen keller said "Until the great mass of the people shall be filled with the sense of responsibility for each other's welfare, social justice can never be attained"

Greatest Nigeria students, I write this piece today not to tarnish anybody image but to point out errors, and suggest possible solution, by so doing our union leaders can learn and fight for student rights.

Apart from parental care, the school has some important role to play through providing quality welfares for the students in achieving academic excellence

•INFRASTRUCTURE: I must salute the alaba-lawson led administration for its impact in the provision of infrastructure like classrooms, but its and we never be enough. Because the capacity of the building is too small compare to the number of student admitted for that course. Students don't want to come to class because there are no space, insufficient public address system in these classes, which will enable proper dissemination of information/lectures from the lecturer to the student.

•REGISTRATION; when I came into this school has a fresh student I compared how registration is done here compared to that of kwara poly it was so stressful, that most time I have to skip classes to just because I want complete my registration, we are in the computer age and I believe all accreditation/registration can be done online and they submitted to the school officers for verification. This will reduce the rate at which student skip classes, they can now resume and concentrate on academics which will boost their performances at the end of the session.

•TRANSPORTATION; students come late to class not because they want to do so, but because the transportation system is bad, the school should focus on wider road so that their will be faster access even if we have limited buses.

• STAFFS: moshood abiola polytechnic have the best staffs talking about academics in west africa, but their is a need to do more by employing more teaching staffs, so has to reduce fatigue, some times this lectures are tired and they can't really do much, their is a need for a supporter, at least two lectures to one course not one lecturer to two course.

• SEMINAR: the school should orientate the students on latest discovery based on their course from time to time, that is why it a polytechnic and not a college, students deserve more, our eyes needs to be more open,we shouldn't be limited to what has been taught 50years ago.

Lastly if the school decides to provide all these, are the students ready to learn? Are we ready to read our books? We complain that mapoly is stressful are we playing our own part? These are questions to ask our selves.

God bless mapoly

INDECENT DRESSING:The way out

On my labour towards human development, i deemed it fit to write on this topic especially now that we are perhaps almost at the end of the year.
.
An indecent dress can be seen as any dress that reveals some sacred parts of the body in a way that is publicly unacceptable.
In our society today, most people find indecent dressing to be a tool for improving beauty not knowing that they are only deceiving themselves.
This disgrace called indecent dressing is commonly found in ladies and some other lazy dudes who have no cravings for success.
Dont you get it?if you are a leader, you shouldn't be dressing almost nude.

SOME KINDS OF INDECENT DRESSING
In the big girls, you find them wearing some kinds of outfits that make them look like prostitutes to the guys. This clothes often reveals their breast, belly and their under wears including its content. Most of these clothes are transparent.
For the guys, you find them plaiting their hair, wearing ear rings, and doing what they call "hands down" or "low waste" as the girls like calling it. In this case, they draw their trousers down for the public to see their DIRTY boxers or inner wears.

RELIGIOUS VIEW
Most religions like Christianity and Islam, regard indecent dressing as a sin. in Christianity, we know from the bible that the origin of clothings is from

Gen 3:21
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
And we were made to understand that God gave them these clothes just to cover their Unclothedness.
And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was Unclad; and I hid myself.
from the bolded, we can infer that Adam hid himself because he knew Unclothedness was a sin. But today, our youths especially ladies crave to show their Unclad state to the public without fear. While the guys dress like women forgeting the purnishment attached thereon {1Cor 6:9}.

SOLUTIONS
The following points should be put into consideration if we must arrest this ugly development.
1, The National Assembly should pass a bill against public Unclothedness.
2, A serious ban should be placed on all unscrupulous music videos and films.
3, Parents must discourage their worths/children from such disgraceful dressings.
4, All foreign cultures supporting Unclothedness should be avoided.
5, Lecturers/teachers must discourage this madness.
6, Youths should arise and take responsibility.

SUMMARY
1 Dress the way you want to be addressed.
2, Indecent dresses does not improve your beauty, rather, they dent your image.
3, Indecent dresses symbolizes disgrace and public madness.
4, indecent dressing may instigate crimes such as rape.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME AND DESTINY

Apostle Soji John

A young man in his mid thirties walked up to me because I have known him  for over 35yrs ago. When he was younger, at his teens he was very intelligent. He did well in his primary and secondary school.
Unfortunately, close to to when was almost rounding off his secondary education, he joined himself to dubious dropouts in school who refused to attend classes when school was in session.
In few months, he started to depreciate in knowledge, and when he stepped into my office, looking at him, you wouldn’t want to associate with him because from his head to his feet, he looked sick. He has so much emaciated that you could see his skeletal frame.
Listen dear reader, just like this young man, you think you will always have the time? No sir. You think the seasons of life you are in now will continue like that forever? No
This young man was dying of tuberculosis and my heart cried for him.He had wasted his time, the opportunities he got, the resources made at his disposal both by God and man. He became a waste, living a wasted life that nobody wanted to identify with.
Dear reader,I am writing this with a sense of urgency, don’t waste your time .for those of us that are getting older by the day, we can do something about our lives, This is the time you can work. Understand that time waits for no man.
What you do with your time determines the good success or failure you will have.”That you mayest have good success and make thy way prosperous” Joshua 1 ;8.”That thou” means someone who will dare use his time maximally will have good success and make his or her way prosperous
A minute gone into history cannot be recalled back, that is why you must be smart with time.Dont associate with time wasters. If you marry a time waster, pray for him or her until she repents or he or she will distract you from becoming an achiever in life.
Time wasters must carefully be watched out for.The actions of time wasters is illustrated as an ant at work that slowly eats away and carries off all its bounties.it may take long while, but surely completes the task of depleting the stock, so time wasters must not be tolerated as their actions will eventually lead to regrets.
Look, God doesn’t invest in time wasters, neither does God multiply or increase time wasters.
What do you do with your time?

If you joke with your morning, you joke with your future. Those who joke with their morning mourn at night.
If you play in the morning, you will pay at night. It is better you pay now so that you can enjoy your future.
Anyone you have in your life or around you, who does not observe or have respect for time, you must separate from them because such people don’t work with time, neither do they respect your time , as they do not know the significance of time nor what time represents. If you want to be successful, make good use of time because time works with opportunities and opportunities work with time.
Successful people understand this because they do not joke with time that is why it is time that them successful.

COUNTRY FIRST III

Prof. Chris Nwaokobia Jnr

"I do not see how he survives, why he is not crushed and torn to pieces. Without him I should be destroyed. He performs his task super humanly." - Abraham Lincoln on  Edwin Stanton his Secretary of War who was first his hater and arch-critic.

Noah Brooks a Journalist said that Stanton was known as a 'bull-head' that is to say 'opinionated, implacable, and not easily turned from any purpose'. The LESSON is Stanton was not particularly likable - yet President Lincoln liked him.

A good Leader must overcome the ids of revenge. He must put Country First and surround himself not with jesters and praise singers but those who at all times can say the truth to Power. Public Office holders must subsume egos and ids by learning some Lincoln leadership tact.

To Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, I must say that some of us of South South and South East extraction who stock our necks out in the electoral effort that brought you to power have become recipients of a barrage of hate calls and diatribe since your list of Special Assistants and Commissioner designates was sent to the House of Assembly.

It has been a spate of cynical and skeptical attack on us your supporters as your list does not have a non-yoruba name on it. Tinubu worked with some non-indigene/non-Yoruba Commissioners and S.As and so did Fashola, BUT your Ambode has chosen to return Lagos to the dark days of ethnic divide and exclusion, they argue.

Sir, the ideological brush we had with some Igbo Leaders during the campaigns should not deny Lagos the cosmopolitan beauty that your Predecessors made of it, inclusion is it. THINK.

God Bless Nigeria.
