how to get out of debt

Being in debt can be a stressful experience. No matter what your circumstance is, if you signed for a loan, you are obligated to pay it back even if you have a life altering experience like losing a job, getting into an accident, or even if you have increased expenses due to having a child.Make a conscious decision to stop borrowing money
If you want to get out of debt fast, you have to stop using debt to fund your lifestyle. This means no more financing furniture, no more signing up for credit cards, no more test driving brand new cars that you don’t have the cash to pay for. This will help you focus solely on the debt that you currently do have so that you can develop a game plan to pay it off quickly.

Create a realistic budget and stick to it
Developing a budget that tracks your income and your expenses is crucial to getting out of debt in a short period of time. It will help you gauge where you are with your finances so that you can move forward toward your goal. It will expose whether you have money left over, which is called a surplus, or if you are in the negative, which is called a deficit. The goal is to increase your surplus and use that money to pay down your debt. Below are two ways that you can do this.

Organize your debt
This is paramount to mapping out a plan to pay off your debt. There are two approaches that are worth considering.  The first is where you list your debts smallest to largest regardless of the interest rate. This is the method that we used to pay off 52k in debt in 18 months and it worked great because it helped us build momentum. When we paid off our first debt it put wind in our sails. Even though we had higher interest debts, this gave us something that was very powerful: the belief that we could get out of debt quickly if we stuck to the plan.

Throw any excess cash at your debt
When we were getting out of debt, there were several times where extra money fell in our laps that we had not factored into our debt elimination originally. We decided to take this cash and use it to tackle our debt. Some good examples would be a tax refund, selling a car, an inheritance, winning a bet, etc. The more cash you can put towards your debt, the faster it will disappear.

Debt doesn’t have to be forever. Develop your financial game plan and start your journey toward being debt-free today.

Establish a starter Emergency Fund of $1000
You might be wondering, ‘Why is having an emergency fund important’? Well, if you don’t have any money in the bank and an emergency does happen, how are you going to pay for it? For most people, credit cards become the funding source for those emergencies. If you are trying to get out of debt then you need to put a buffer between you and debt; that is exactly what an emergency fund does.

My Opinion about Nnamdi Kanu

Recently,i was shocked at the statement Kanu made and it is so sad.Dear readers and viewers, this is just my personal opinion.dont take take it personal.

According to him(Kanu Nnamdi),I am a “prisoner of conscience” and would do all within his might to see that the dream of an independent state of Biafra comes to pass".
He told reporters from jail that “Biafra has come to stay,”“They will kill us but by the end Biafra will come".
I thought igbos from everywhere around the world are christians but i am wrong, they are religious but hypocrites.when a nigerian is calling himself a biafran,it is d highest height of identity crisis and irresponsibility.what a pity that our igbo brothers have been bewitched and brainwashed.so Nnamdi kanu wants blood shed?i can now see d selfcentredness.will a christian spread hate message to distabilize the nation?what a tragedy of the igbo tribe.will the children of Ephraim bring war to their nation or peace?
Nnamdi Kanu hates Igbos because he doesnt know the harm that he is about to cause.
If Kanu’s memory is intact, he would pick one or two lessons about what happened in Nigeria between 1967 and 1970. But then again, he’s turned a blind eye to that era; he wants a new reality without counting the cost.
"Biafra must come or every living thing in the zoo will die...” Is one of the frequently made comments on the Radio and twitter by Nnamdi Kanu and then, he is still having and travelling with a “zoo” passport.  I have discussed this issue with my igbo pastors and igbo friends and i realise dat it is not all igbos that are brainwashed and bewitched by the hate speech of this self imposed, selfcentred, selfish and tribalistic nnamdi kanu.where there is love, there is no hate and war.my igbo brothers, hausas and we yorubas are ur brothers and sisters,we are one.nothing should divide us.we cannot continue to live as enemies in our nation bcaus as christians and muslims,God is love.if you claim you know the bible and quran and you hate your neighbour,to the extent that you call your nation a zoo, then you are an infidel,a terrorist and an unbeliver because he who knows God and dwell in God will dwell in love and not hate.

Suspence But Sadness

A tear drops down my cheek every time I read the sad story of this little child. The year is 1993 and famine is hitting hard the horn of Africa. In South Sudan, the vulture is waiting for the child to die and eat. This picture shocked the whole world. No one knows what happened to the child, including the photographer Kevin Carter who left the place as soon as the photograph was taken. A vulture landed behind the child. To get the two in focus, Carter approached the scene very slowly so as not to scare the vulture away and took a photo from approximately 10 meters. The photo was published in The New York Times in March of 1993, and sparked a wide reaction. People wanted to know what happened to the child, and if Carter offered any assistance. Journalists in the Sudan were told not to touch the famine victims, because of the risk of transmitting disease, but Carter came under criticism for not helping the Child. “The man adjusting his lens to take just the right frame of the child's suffering might just as well be a predator, another vulture on the scene,”read one editorial. Carter eventually won the Pulitzer Prize for this photo, but he couldn’t enjoy it. “I’m really, really sorry I didn’t pick the child up,” he confided in a friend. Three months later Kevin Carter committed suicide due to depression.
This was found in his diary,
Dear God, I promise I will never waste my food no matter how bad it can taste and how full I may be. I pray that He will protect this little boy, guide and deliver him away from his misery. I pray that we will be more sensitive towards the world around us and not be blinded by our own selfish nature and interests. I hope this picture will always serve as a reminder to us that how fortunate we are and that we must never ever take things for granted.
Have a graceful weekend ahead!

The Eagle in a storm

__"If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging."
There’s a story told about a businessman who went to see a close and trusted friend.
"Things are so tough," he began to say, "I feel I'm in a deep hole and every day it just seems to get deeper."
"Tell me the problem," the other man asked sympathetically.
"Everyone is against me," his friend said emphatically, then began to list all the people who had undermined him and wanted to take over his company. It was a pretty impressive list.
After a while, his friend chipped in: "It appears almost everyone is trying to destroy you?"
"Absolutely!" And he continued to give more detail of people and things that had conspired to undermine his business.
"So what are you going to do?" his friend finally asked.
"I shall fight and fight."
The friend listened and then gave this advice: "I noticed as you were speaking that you yourself do not believe that you have contributed in any way to this situation?"
"No, I have not contributed in any way at all!"
"I see. So what will you do?"
"That is why I've come to you for help. I need to borrow some money to see me through this problem for the next few weeks." The friend then politely declined to give the man any assistance.
I personally would not help such a person. Do you know why?
# If you find yourself in a "hole" for whatever reason, the first thing you must do is to stop digging and making the hole bigger.
# People who refuse to accept responsibility for any situation they’re in will only make the situation worse by the actions they take. If you have a problem to solve in business, don't get distracted by looking for scapegoats or trying to mobilize political support against perceived enemies. This is why many state-owned enterprises (parastatals) find it so difficult to solve business problems.
# If you want others to help you, you must first stop digging, let go of the shovel, and allow a trusted someone to give you a hand up!
# To move forward, you must dust yourself off and analyze honestly how you got yourself into that hole. While you may feel a bit defeated, don’t just drown your sorrows with drink or other destructive and time wasting habits. An eagle in a storm must be alert for danger and opportunity at all times, not at risk of slamming into a cliff or falling into a different kind of hole!
What is the Japanese proverb? “Fall down seven times, stand up eight!”
To be continued . . .

YOUR POVERTY MUST DIE- Dr D.K Olukoya.

The Bible says that you can pursue and overtake your enemies and recover what they have stolen from you. It is a standing order in the word of God. The Bible being a very straightforward book gives you the two sides of the coin. It also tells us that curses can pursue a person and overtake the person. The same Bible also makes us to understand that blessings can pursue a person and overtake the person. I must point out to you that the spirit of poverty is a very stubborn spirit and it has to be dealt with, with full force by the hammer of the Almighty. Deuteronomy 28:2 says, “And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.” So, blessings can also pursue and overtake a person. Psalm 23:6 says, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life...” When you combine Deuteronomy 28:2 and Psalm 23: 6, you get an amazing information. We have always been taught that we should pursue blessings, pursue money, be very aggressive and work ourselves to the bones. Then when we get the money, we hoard it. But now the Bible is saying something completely different. It is saying that those things that you are busy worrying your brain about can pursue and overtake you. Remember that God knows no barrier or impossibility.
Most of the wealth in the world is in the wrong hands. Why are they in the wrong hands? We, Christians allowed it. Many of the things that are happening are so because Christians allow them. When we stand as a church of God and say that we disallow a particular thing, it would not happen. Our word cannot be challenged because it is by eternal decree. We are sons of the living God by adoption. We were not voted into it, so nobody can vote us out.
Men love the supernatural and they like to see the miraculous. It is because of that you always find people crowding around street magicians putting big snakes round their necks. The Bible says that signs and wonders shall follow believers. It did not say we should be following the signs. Miracles can pursue and overtake you that is the truth. Beloved, I have a word for you from the Lord as you are reading this message: God says that He has just started His work in your life and He has not finished yet.
At the end of the day, the only true fire and power is God. People may say all kinds of things but the only person who has the final say is not the doctor, or the banker, or the lawyer, or the judge. It is not the president, but the Almighty God.

THREE REASONS MANY CHRISTIANS ARE POOR:
1. God will not give you what will kill you. It is like a small boy watching his daddy shaving and he says, “Daddy, give me the blade, give me the blade.” No matter how he loves the child, he will not give him the blade. So your spiritual level and your level of brokenness may be too low for God to entrust wealth to you. That is why the Bible says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you.” They are automatic addition. Here comes the first question to you in this message. “Can you confirm in your spirit that the kingdom is in you? Are you a broken Christian? That is the first poverty-destroying weapon
God may be looking at you and He is saying, “If I give this my child fifty million naira, will he not backslide?” If God sees that anger, greed, dishonesty, lying, are still in your life, He will not give you His prosperity. Get the kingdom first; submit the whole of your life to God and then you will never be forsaken. The Bible says that God never forsakes the righteous but you have to be righteous to have that privilege. There are many people now who are very serious with the Lord because they are poor. But when money comes, they would become irregular. God can see. Many are praying, “O Lord, promote my husband,” and God is saying, “When I have not promoted the man, he is running after strange women, when he is promoted, he will now build castles for them and abandon you completely. Why don’t you let us get him saved first?”
There are people who were working and praying hard when they did not have a fan in their house and at night mosquitoes came and by the time they slapped themselves thrice, they would stand up to pray. But now they got the fan and split air conditioner, they over sleep. God does not want that. Many forget the household of God immediately they obtain contracts. They would not be seen again in the church until the money is gone. Before then when you call a prayer point like: “Let every contract be released now, in the name of Jesus, they would pray and shake their heads. But when they get it, the next place you would see them is the VIP lounge at the airport with very starched clothes, sitting down and eating meat pie and drinking tea as early as 6.30 am. But when they were looking for it, it was dry fast everyday.
Many who used to come early to church when they had no cars now come late to church in spite of the fact that God has blessed them with cars and drivers. And when you ask them why they come late to church, they would say, “That foolish driver did not wake up on time to bring me to church.” But when there was no car and driver, they got to church before everybody, swept the floor, joined the prayer warriors, and then settled down before service. God sees all these.
Some people were praying very well when they had no job. But now that they have a job, they forget their spiritual duties because of over- time. Some prayed and fasted to get a job and by 5.00 am., they have arrived at the office. But when it is service days, you see them strolling in one hour late. God normally allows that which keeps a man from Him to be withdrawn so that He can get his attention. God has had to withdraw cars, houses and comfort from people in order to save their souls. So, check your life today. Are you broken to the level where God can commit the riches of the Gentiles into your hands? Do you have clean hands, a kind of hand that God will place this sort of riches on? This is the first headache of the Almighty when it comes to prosperity.
2. Proverbs 11: 24 says, “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat. And he that watereth shall be watered also himself.” And Luke 6: 38 says, “Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom.” This is an area where the devil has blinded the eyes of many believers. Many pray that they want prosperity, but how is the prosperity going to come when they have sown no seed. It is like a student praying to pass his examination when he has read nothing. It is like a woman praying to get pregnant without a husband or without a man. You must sow a seed. It is that seed that the Lord will multiply for you. Someone who wants prosperity should do more than tithing. Some people have been writing me letters asking: “What should we tithe? Is it the gross pay or the net pay?” It is better for you to over pay than to under pay. If God is asking you for a tithe and you say, “O God, take 20 per cent or 15 per cent, it is better for you to owe me than for me to owe you.” You must not treat God as a beggar. You treat God as a beggar when you give Him the extra that you don’t need. If you cannot be generous with the Almighty when things are hard for you, you would not be able to give when there is abundance. Sowing in the time of famine attracts abundant blessings and prosperity. Remember the story of the woman in Mark chapter 12, who just threw in some coins and God said, “This one has contributed more money than every other person.” So, if you find it hard to give a tenth unto God, of the money that belongs to you, you are inviting poverty. If you completely forget to pay your tithe and your offerings, you are inviting poverty. If you feel or believe that the tithe and offerings you give are too much, you are inviting poverty. If God gives you 20,000 naira and you find it difficult to pay 2,000 as tithe, you are writing to poverty. Wise believers double the tithe. Also, they sow a big seed and challenge the Lord. Giving to God is sacrifice. You have not started giving to God until you feel the pinch. Many are so tight-fisted when it comes to financing God’s work. Tithe borrowers are looking for trouble too. It is foolish to borrow your tithe because the repercussion can be grievous and it is also an insult to God.

3. Psalm 78:41 says, “Yea they turned back and tempted God and limited the Holy one of Israel.” The third reason is that many of us limit God. Many limit God by the way they talk and act. Many do not believe that God can do something outside their normal salary or income. So, anytime they pray, they focus their attention on what appears to be obvious. They are not on the look out for the miraculous or supernatural. They limit God completely. That is why sometimes when you ask some people, “How are you?” They would answer “rough.” Negative and inferior thinking invites poverty. You should not limit God. The Bible says that with God, nothing shall be impossible. It is only in our dictionary we find the word impossible or difficult.
WAY OUT
When you check your life and you find out that the spirit of poverty is in control, then you need to resist it. Think now about your finances. If you have cheated God, ask for forgiveness. Take a positive stand on what you will do in God’s house. If you have things that you have stored up somewhere and you know that you don’t really need them. Sell them off and put the money into God’s work. The last step to take is an aggressive one. It is to pray poverty destroying prayers. You must pray against the spirit of poverty with holy aggression. Some sicknesses are not ordinary. They are just ladders of poverty and you need to break them to pieces.
PRAYER POINTS
1. You heaven that has become brass, break open and bring rain, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every poverty, I break your control, in the name of Jesus.
3. Lay your hands on your eyes and pray like this: O Lord, anoint my eyes to see the hidden riches of the world, in the name of Jesus.
4. Lay hand on your head and pray this: O Lord, advertise your prosperity in my life, in Jesus’ name.
5.Yoke of poverty upon my life.die by fire

What you dont know about Valentine day

St. Valentine's Day can be traced back to Lupercalia, the Roman "festival of sexual license." This purification and fertility festival that seems to have been uniquely Roman. "...there is no other Indo-European equivalent in Vedic, Scandinavian, Irish, or Indo-Iranian traditions." Its origin has been lost to us, although it might have been associated with protection from wolves (lupus in Latin). Even the Pagan Romans in the 1st century BCE had forgotten its source.
A group of male Pagan priests, called Luperci, had only a single function: to conduct the Lupercalia festival annually on FEB-15. Cicero described them as: "A certain wild association of Lupercalian brothers, both plainly pastoral and savage, whose rustic alliance was formed before civilization and laws..." The celebration was held in the Lupercal cave on the Palantine Hill in Rome. Here, it was beleived, Romulus and Remus had been sheltered and fed by a she-wolf before they founded Rome. Two naked young priests, assisted by Vestal Virgins, would sacrifice a dog and a goat. The dog was probably a substitue for a wolf. (Some sources say that more than one goat was sacrificed.Blood from the animals was spread on the two priests' foreheads and wiped off with some wool dipped in milk. The priests then clothed themselves with loincloths made from the skin of the goat. They ran about the city, scourging women with februa (Latin for "means of purification"). These were strips of skin taken from the sacrificed goat. The Romans believed that this flogging would purify them, and assure their future fertility and easy childbirth.Feasts and parties were later celebrated throughout the city.

February OR Februata
February was gotten from a goddess called Februata. The month of February was sacred to Februata, the Goddess of the 'fever' (febris in Latin) of love" in ancient Pagan Rome. She was also the goddess of women and of marriage. FEB-14 was her festival day. At that time, a box was provided from which single men could draw a "billet" -- a small piece of paper on which a woman's name was written. The couple would then form a temporary liaison for the erotic games to follow. They would remain partners for the following 12 months. Sometimes marriages resulted from this practice.
The church was opposed to this display of open eroticism and sensuality. They tried various ways of changing the festival. One method was to replace the women's names with those of saints and short sermons. The young women and men were expected to emulate the life of the saint whose name was on the billet that they had drawn. However, it was soon apparent that the public preferred the old ways. By the fourteenth century they reverted back to the use of girl's names. In the sixteenth century they once again tried to have saintly valentines but it was as unsuccessful as the first attempt.

The Cupid
Cupid in Roman mythology was the same god as Amor or Eros in ancient Greece. He was a minor god, the son of Venus, the Roman goddess of love and beauty. "Eros seems to have been responsible for impregnating a number of goddesses and mortals. The ancient Greeks believed Eros was the force 'love,' a force they believe was behind all creation. He is portrayed today as a cute, chubby, cherub with bow and arrow, ready to shoot people and infect them with pangs of love. He is often associated with Valentine's Day.
Now ask yourself,Is it right to celebrate a day of lust and sexy for a goddess called Februate?
I am only trying to make sense.

If Only You Believe

                                                               Pst Chris Oyakhilome

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23).

God's power is available always, to save, bless, heal, and transform lives; but it only works for those who believe. Romans 1:16 emphasizes this; it says, " For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to EVERYONE THAT BELIEVETH...." Now, this will clarify some of the assumptions and erroneous beliefs that some people have. For example, there're those who say, "Every sick person for whom Jesus prayed, got healed." But the Bible doesn't say so.

In some places, the Bible says, "And he healed many..." (Mark 1:34). In some other places, it says He "...healed ALL that were sick" (Matthew 8:16). So, when God says "many," and when He says "all," we should know the difference. But then, I want to show you at least one place where healing miracles were hard for Jesus: His hometown of Nazareth.

The Bible lets us know that because of His demeanour, the people murmured, "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him" (Mark 6:3). They had been so familiar with Him that they disdained Him. They were offended that He was acting differently. Consequently, the Bible says "He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them" (Mark 6:5 NIV).

Now, if the Bible says Jesus "COULD NOT do any miracles," it means that He tried; He attempted to, but it didn't work. He couldn't do any mighty work, like the blind receiving sight, the deaf hearing, the lame walking. He couldn't perform such miracles in Nazareth, because the people didn't believe. The Bible says He "marvelled because of their unbelief." Their unbelief short-circuited the power of God.

If you study in the Book of John, several times when Jesus ministered to people, He's say, "Only believe," because if you don't believe, you can't experience the power of God. If you don't believe, He can't save you. The power works for those that believe. There's no impossibility for you, if you'd only believe: "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth" (Mark 9:23).

                 PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for your Word, which imparts faith to my spirit. My faith is strong and unwavering. I know who I am, and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Halleluiah!

Further Study: || 1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? ||

|| Mark 11:23-24 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. ||
