LA police testing knife 'found on old OJ Simpson property'

LA police are testing a knife said to have been found at a former home of OJ Simpson, whose acquittal at his 1995 murder trial captivated the US.
Someone claiming to be a construction worker gave an off-duty police officer the knife some years ago and he kept it, thinking the case was closed.
Police recently recovered the knife and are testing it for DNA and hair samples.
Simpson had been accused of killing his ex-wife and her friend in June of 1994.
But a jury found him not guilty after a dramatic televised trial. He cannot be prosecuted again for the same charges under US law.
Police cast some doubt on whether the knife was connected to the OJ Simpson case at a news conference on Friday, saying it could be "bogus".
"If this story is accurate, you'd think anytime you come into contact with evidence that you should submit it to investigators," said Captain Andrew Neiman of the LAPD. "I don't know why that didn't happen."

Facebook to pay millions in UK taxes

The company is likely to pay millions more in U.K. taxes after making changes to its corporate structure that will stop revenue earned in the U.K. from being routed through Ireland.
Facebook had been accused of "profit shifting" a common practice for multinational companies operating across Europe. After establishing a headquarters in low-tax countries, such as Ireland or Luxembourg, firms funnel profits from around the region to these jurisdictions in order to slash their tax bills.
Facebook (FB,Tech30) faced a huge amount of criticism over the issue after paying just £4,327 ($6,100) in taxes in the U.K. in 2014.
"We felt this change would provide transparency to Facebook's operations in the U.K.," a Facebook spokesperson said.
"The new structure is easier to understand and clearly recognizes the value our U.K. organization adds to our sales through our highly skilled and growing U.K. sales team," the spokesperson added.

Develop your skills for career success

What is it that truly differentiates one candidate from another during the application process? Whether we are talking about the stage involving the vetting of resumes or the interview stage, certain qualities are increasingly taking centre stage in the mind of recruiters. They are looking for such qualities in potential hires.
For jobseekers who want to remain a step ahead of the pack, it’s important to know what the most wanted skills are in today’s workplace.
Research on what HR experts believe are the most important skills indicates that we are moving away from a mind-set that potential employees should have the technical know-how and the right academic qualifications. Even though the latter is an inevitable prerequisite, the emphasis has shifted.

1 COMMUNICATION SKILLS (LISTENING, SPEAKING AND WRITING)
Communication skills are perhaps the first set of skills that potential employers will notice. From the initial moment you get in touch with them, the employer will be scrutinising the way you behave.
Be it the way you talk over the phone, the way you give them information on email, your resume and cover letter, or the way you carry yourself during the interview, they will be assessing whether you have polished communication skills.
Make sure that you proof read any form of written communication you send them, and take your time to listen to what they ask you (or read their instructions carefully), and answer in well-thought out, grammatically correct sentences. The way you communicate your thoughts should be impeccable, as this is the way they expect you to communicate with colleagues and clients alike throughout your tenure in their organisation.

2 ANALYTICAL AND RESEARCH SKILLS
As much as you think a question/problem presented to you is a piece of cake, be very wary of giving a rushed answer. Take the time to analyse the situation, think of all possible scenarios, and if possible ask for some time to go and do some research to find out more.
Being analytical, but also having strong research skills, differentiates one employee from the other. It demonstrates your determination, your ability to assess different scenarios, and your commitment to be 100% sure before giving an answer to your employer. It could mean the difference between a badly thought out idea and something that may gain the company a huge profit!
3 FLEXIBILITY/ADAPTABILITY
An ability to manage multiple assignments at the same time, and being flexible enough to work under ever changing conditions, management, environment and rules is highly appreciated.
In today’s world, a job description is very fluid, and can change shape at any time. An employee that is willing to work under a multitude of changing circumstances is highly sought after.
Being able to adapt from one working environment to the next, or even from one type of assignment to another, is a big advantage. It demonstrates the individual’s commitment to the organisation, and will influence their career progression.
4 INTERPERSONAL ABILITIES
“No man is an island”. So the saying goes. Increasingly in the workplace, we all have to work with others in order to complete a project.
Be it working in a team, or dealing with clients or suppliers, interpersonal abilities is a definite advantage and something employers always look for.
The ability to build relationships with those around you under any circumstances, and the ability to inspire them to do what needs to be done is essential.
5 ABILITY TO MAKE DECISIONS AND SOLVE PROBLEMS
Decision making and problem solving is another skill that is high in demand. The ability to identify complex problems and review related information in order to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions, can distinguish one employee from another. The ability to use critical thinking to rationalise a decision will set an individual apart.
6 ABILITY TO PLAN, ORGANISE AND PRIORITISE WORK
Simple as it may sound, an individual that can show that he/she has been able to plan and organise their work is very valuable. Pay special attention to the way you plan your tasks, and ensure you keep up with all the deadlines you are given.
An employee that can stick to assigned timelines and can provide pieces of information with ease and speed indicates that he/she remains on top of things.
7. MANAGEMENT SKILLS
The ability to manage people is a very powerful skill. Not only can you inspire individuals to do what is right, you can guide them along the way, and you can monitor their progress in every step. Being able to lead a group and manage these individuals in a way that does not impede their progress and insult their judgement is highly desirable in today’s workplace.
With Gen Yers taking over the work place, and their strong desire to be left alone to do what they have to do, it is essential to have managers that know how to lead and manage their teams in a way that leaves all employees room to come up with their own ways of doing things. Exhibiting strong management/leadership skills is therefore a big advantage in today’s working world.

How to recognise your helpers

EX. 31:1-6, 2KINGS 5:1-14, 2COR. 1:24, 1CHRO. 12:1, 8, 18-23.
You are not a biological error; you are a child born to fulfill purpose in life. There is a person God wants you to see in life; there are people God has positioned to help you build your purpose. Purposes suffer when you don’t have helpers; purpose cannot be achieved in life without helpers of destiny. God will never give you a purpose without divine helpers; they have major roles to play in helping you in your purpose. Life is inter-locked with other lives therefore you cannot work in your purpose alone. Jesus could not start His ministry until He had gathered people.
God called Moses to build Him a tabernacle but He provided him with builders (helpers) Ex. 31:1-6. Your helpers of destiny may not be members of your family; a purpose helper could be a man, woman, enemy or even a group of persons. God can use your enemy to help your destiny (to put you on the throne); just like in the case of Joseph and his brothers who were his enemy. They wanted to kill him but one of them, Reuben, said they should rather sell him and this was how he ended up on the throne (Prime Minister of Egypt). God can send your helper of destiny to give you information that will transform your state of life, money, advice, etc. They can play different roles to help you work in God’s divine purpose for your life.
WHO ARE DESTINY HELPERS?
1. They are hands of help to make sure that your life is moving consistently in the right direction of life.
2. They are divine agents of intervention.
3. They stand in the gap and assist you to realize your dreams in life. If dreams are not realized, purposes are disappointed
4. They take major decisions in your favour; you are not there but they want to favour you.
5. They are burden carriers for you. They don’t allow you to carry your burden, they carry it for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF DESTINY HELPERS.
1. They take you to where God wants you to be. You can’t stop your journey where you are now, there is a place God wants you to be – your divine destination.
2. They are the forklift of your life. They lift you up; they don’t bring you down. They are not comfortable until they see you leave the floor.
3. They are sent to help you fulfill the assignment of your life.
4. They prepare you for your destined position.
5. They don’t consider helping you as a burden; they do it with excitement. It is a thing of joy to them. They are like visible angels.
NOTE:
In life, never despise anybody. You must learn how to place value on people.
If helpers of destiny fail to fulfill their purpose in your life, there will be a vacuum.
Your first helper of destiny on earth is your pastor. It is your pastor that will prophesy upon your life to enable your destiny to rise.
Your helpers of destiny are those who want you to be happy.
Helpers of destiny do not place demand before they help you.
You must not be wicked to people; be nice.
If you have not seen your destiny helper(s), never give up; they will locate you. Don’t give up until you have accomplished your purpose. God is about to send you a helper of destiny; He will arrange a meeting between you and your helpers of destiny in Jesus’ name, amen!

Egyptian student face deportation from US after donald trump threat

An Egyptian flight student is expected to appear at a deportation hearing after he was investigated by federal agents for posting threatening comments on his Facebook page about Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump.
Emadeldin Elsayed has a hearing scheduled Friday before Immigration Judge Kevin Riley in Los Angeles.
U.S. Secret Service agents interviewed Elsayed in early February about the post.
Authorities told him eight days later that federal prosecutors were not charging him with a crime but his visa to attend flight school had been revoked.
Immigration authorities then arrested him.

Oduduwa is not the Father of Yorubas

Do you believe ODUDUWA is the ancestral father of the Yoruba people? Many Yoruba scholars claim Oduduwa fell from the sky to Yoruba land. Where actually did he land?  Any sign? Others say he came from the east (Benin Kingdom), ok, did he meet people in the so called Yoruba land? If yes, then how can Oduduwa now be their ancestral father?”. The truth was that Oduduwa is Ekaladerhan Izoduwa from Benin Kingdom not any spirit or super human who fell direct from the sky. This takes us to the anthropological trace of the Yoruba Scientific history in Nigeria.”
(a) FIRST LINKAGE WITH BENIN AND THE ORIGIN OF YORUBA PEOPLE IN NIGERIA
EKALADERHAN IZODUWA/IMADODUWA OR ODUDUWA
An Edo prince went far south west, to a town or village with his followers from Benin. The Edo prince’s name was Ekaladerhan Izoduwa or Imadoduwa. He created Kingship monarchy in the town and also calls it “ILefe.” he reign over this land until further migrant people and workers can from Dahomey. Imadoduwa was a magician. He was with the mind of making his kingdom great and wealthy. He embarks on developing more areas in his kingdom and expanding his territory. Ekaladerhan Izoduwa was what was later corrupt by Yoruba as Oduduwa. Some scholars say “Yoruba” migrants from Dahomey to the Kingdom of Oyo and Ilefe were the Ewe tribe of Togo while others say they were from Fon, thought part of dahomey were also part and parcel of Mali, Berbers.
They weren’t called Yoruba in Ekaladerhan kingdom then. The migrant population was huge. Scholars argue Yoruba are Malians. Mali most likely comes from Mali*inke (Mandinka) which was also spelled Malli in most ancient maps. Some say Yoruba originate from the tribe of ancient Ewe that settled in West Africa in Dahomey, Ghana and finally Old Oyo. The Migrants arriving Ilefe mix up and inter married with the people. There is probability that they spoke corrupt Benin mix migrants and settlers language that could have given birth to some yoruba dialects spoken today.
After many years when the Imazoduwa died, another succession, probably one of his son,s continued the reign of the kingdom of Ile ife. By this time the kingdom have already expand to some other parts know as Yoruba land of today. Yoruba were not Benin and Benin not Yoruba but mix in Ile ife that later expanded territory to other parts of today Yoruba land.
Ilefe is a Benin name and town by a Benin Prince to the south west of Nigeria. The Yoruba call it the same as “Ile Ife”. Only the intonation varies. Both the Benin and Yoruba agree Ilefe or Ile Ife was ruled and organized by a Benin prince. The Monarchy system was created by a Benin prince Izoduwa, Imadoduwa or Oduduwa.

The reason some or many Yoruba today feel Benin is not the aborigine and source of their monarchy institution are political, ego and the corrupt British education and administration. Let’s not also forget that slave trade had a terrible impart on the old kingdom of Ekaladerhan in Yoruba land. Oyo was seriously devastated and reduced during the slave trade. The headquarter or Yoruba kingdom was in “Ilefe” or Ile Ife. The settlement by migrants from Togo that settled in Oyo was wipe off by 18 century by slave trade.
As recorded in modern history, the Alaafin’s dynasty in Oyo began around 1200 CE. Oranmiyan was in Igodomigodo in 1170 CE. Ekaladerhan Izoduwa (Oduduwa) was alive during his son’s sojourn in Igodomigodo and also when the Oyo dynasty came into being.
Yoruba historians confirm that 37 Oonis reigned in Ife before Akinmoyero in (1770-1800), and that 13 more have reigned since. This enables us to prove the 1200 CE date mathematically. If from 1800 CE to 2004 CE (i.e. a period of 204 years), produced 13 Oonis on the average, how many Oonis could have reigned from 1200 CE to 1800 CE (i.e. a period of 600 years)? The answer is 38 Oonis.
The word “YORUBA”.
The word Yoruba has its roots in Yariba which the Fulani used to call the Oyo people. This was a later word use to identify the people of Oyo by the Hausa-fulani’s during the slave trade in the 16 century. The word ‘Yariba’ was first recorded in reference to the Oyo people only, in a treatise written by the 16th-century Songhai scholar Ahmed Baba. It was popularized by Hausa usage and ethnography written in Arabic and Ajami during the 19th century, in origin referring to the Oyo exclusively.
The extension of the term Yoruba to all speakers of dialects related to the language of the Oyo (in modern terminology North-West Yoruba) dates to the second half of the 19th century. It is due to the influence of Samuel Ajayi Crowther, the first Anglican bishop in Nigeria. Crowther was himself a Yoruba and compiled the first Yoruba dictionary as well as introducing a standard for Yoruba orthography. It’s like classifying all of Northern Nigeria as Hausa. The presence of Yoruba influence in most places today claimed as Yorubaland can be traced back to the propaganda nature of Crowther in the 19th century.
(b) SECOND MIGRATION OF YORUBA PEOPLE SOUTHWARD FROM OYO AND IFE:
The Yoruba second migration happened in the 16th to 18th century during the slave raiding for British slave merchants. There may have been some few migrants during the economic boom during Benin kingdom trading with the Portuguese.
Oyo recorded the highest slave raiding in the history of Nigeria and most of them were shipped to South America, that is why there are so many Yoruba's in South American countries who dont even know their root.

Yoruba Now Official Language in Benin Republic

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Benin, Dr Lawrence Obisakin, who disclosed this also said Dendi, another indigenous Nigeria language, is also being recognised alongside Yoruba by the Beninoise Government, underscoring the affinity between the two countries.
The Nigerian envoy explained that based on the recognition, the Federal Government recently donated Yoruba language books to the Government of Benin.
“Just a week ago, Nigerian government gave Yoruba books to the government of Benin to support the recognition of the language.

Ese Oruru and the Hypocrisy of Nigerians.

It's been all about Ese Oruru in the last 7 days in Nigeria. The story has it that one Yunusa,a Muslim from Kano state, Northern Nigeria "Kidnapped" Ese,a 14 years old Christian girl, from Bayelsa state Southern Nigeria 6 months ago and took her to Kano where he's been living with her as his lover. Yunusa it is claimed is 18 years old.
Well, let me not bore you with the story of Ese and Yunusa,i'm sure you must have heard a lot of it. I must add that I totally condemn what happened to Ese. She is just 14 and shouldn't be used as anyone's sex toy. I must also add that I doubt Yunusa's age and he should be prosecuted immediately.
What has gotten me puzzled in all of this is the lies peddled against the Kano Emirate council and the demonisation of Northern Nigerians as a whole. How can anyone say it was the Emir of Kano,Sanusi Lamido who was the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria that sent Yunusa to "kidnap"14 years old Ese? Can't we just condemn Yunusa and call for his prosecution without being tribal bigots?
Everyday in Southern Nigeria Baby factories are discovered where girls,Ese's age are constantly impregnated and when they deliver, their babies sold.
I still vividly remember the case of Ahamefula Motherless Babies Home, located in Umuaka, Njaba local council of Imo state, owned by a middle aged woman simply identified as “Madam One Thousand”. In 2013 when commissioner of police Katsina and his men raided the Baby factory it was discovered That over 17 girls aged 14 to 17 were constantly impregnated by a 23 years old man known as "Oyinbo". Some people made a joke of the story and called the 23 years old rapist and sperm donor "Mr Sharp Shooter" the girls were kept in very dark rooms and they were forbidden from making contact with the outside world.
How come when we hear stories of underage girls in Baby factories especially in South east and south South Nigeria we shrug it off and move on as if nothing has happened? If Ese was discovered in a baby factory in any of the states in Southern Nigeria would we make the noise we making now??? I am very surprised to know we have a lot of human rights activists in Nigeria.
Is the present Smear Campaign against Northern Nigeria connected to the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan at the polls last year??
If you have a thing or two against Northerners then come out boldly and say it and stop using Ese's case as a cover to play your tribal games.
In the coming weeks more Baby factories will be discovered in states across Southern Nigeria and this tribal, sentimental activists won't say a word.
