Guinea Ends Transmission of Ebola Virus

Forty-two days have passed since the last person confirmed to have Ebola virus disease in Guinea tested negative for the second time. The country now enters a 90-day period of heightened surveillance to ensure that any new cases are identified quickly before they can spread to other people.

He spent more than three weeks in an Ebola treatment unit after testing positive for the virus. “This certificate proves I have been cured of Ebola,” he said. “It shows I am no longer contagious. When people see it, they believe it.”

REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD STOP DRINKING ALCOHOL

 There are lots of reasons why you might want to stop drinking alcohol. Some people need to stop drinking as a result of developing an alcohol related medical condition such as liver disease, or because they start taking medication which reacts badly with alcohol. Others choose to do so for religious reasons, or simply as a move towards a healthier lifestyle but wait a minuite,lets look at the biblical reasons:

1) Genesis 9:20-26 - Noah became drunk; the result was immorality and family trouble.
2) Genesis 19:30-38 - Lot was so drunk he did not know what he was doing; this led to immorality
3) Leviticus 10:9-11 - God commanded priests not to drink so that they could tell the difference between the holy and the unholy.
4) Numbers 6:3 - The Nazarites were told to eat or drink nothing from the grape vine.
5) Deuteronomy 21:20 - A drunken son was stubborn and rebellious.
6) Deuteronomy 29:5-6 - God gave no grape juice to Israel nor did they have intoxicating drink in the wilderness.
7) Deuteronomy 32:33 - Intoxicating wine is like the poison of serpents, the cruel venom of asps.
8) Judges 13:4, 7, 14 - Samson was to be a Nazarite for life. His mother was told not to drink wine or strong drink.

27) Proverb 31:4-5 - Kings, Princes, and others who rule and judge must not drink alcohol. Alcohol perverts good judgment.
28) Proverbs 31:6-7 - Strong drink could be given to those about to perish or those in pain. Better anesthetics are available today.
29) Ecclesiastes 2:3 - The king tried everything, including intoxicating drink, to see if it satisfied. It did not. (Ecclesiastes 12:8)
30) Ecclesiastes 10:17 - A land is blessed when its leaders do not drink.

4.3-magnitude earthquake recorded in east Edmond

A 4.3-magnitude earthquake was reported near east Edmond early Tuesday morning.
The quake originally was reported around 5:40 a.m. as a 4.1 earthquake.
An aftershock was recorded at 5:49 a.m. as a 3.4-magnitude quake. It was centered 3 miles east-northeast of Edmond.
Residents from all over Oklahoma reported feeling the earthquake. Hundreds of people posted on the KOCO Facebook page that they felt the earthquake, and multiple peopled called the newsroom stating they lost power after the quake.

Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu apologises to Buhari

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and founder of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has expressed regret for referring to President Muhammadu Buhari as a terrorist, evil and a paedophile in his radio broadcasts.

Kanu, who has been charged along with two others by the Federal Government before a Federal High Court in Abuja on six counts of treason and other ancillary offences, said he intended to write a private letter to Buhari to express his apology to the President.

 According to Nnamdi Kanu, “Reference to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a terrorist, evil and a paedophile is regrettable and uncalled for and for that, I unreservedly apologise and will be doing so in a private letter to the President.

“Before PMB (President Muhammadu Buhari) there was the administration of Goodluck Jonathan. I also said uncomplimentary things about him and Igbo elders as well, which I now recognise should not have happened because it is un-African to be rude or insolent to elders.

“All I was trying to do is to draw attention to the problems afflicting society and something done about them.”

Kanu, who described himself as a Nigerian and a British citizen, justified his agitation for a Biafra Republic.

He said IPOB’s secessionist agenda was informed by the “incessant hardship, lack of holistic development in the socio-economic landscape of Nigeria, lack of youth employment, corruption in high offices and economic regression.”

5 Mistakes you must not repeat in 2016

Everybody makes mistakes. This fact has been with us since elementary school, and it is just as applicable to the business world. Mistakes are an important part of life, as they provide opportunities to learn and grow.
2016 is almost here,do not make the mistakes that you made in 2015 again.
Here are a few examples of mistakes made by many good entrepreneurs who have learned to ensure that they do not happen again.

1. Believing in something that is too good to be true

We have all heard that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. This holds true in business as well. It can be easy to follow people who are very charismatic and confident. Good entrepreneurs who have been a little too naïve in the past never let it happen again. Always do your due diligence and make decisions only after considering logic and evidence. Ask serious questions before you get involved or committed to something, especially if it seems too good to be true.

2. Running your business without a budget

Sticking to a budget forces you to make thoughtful and purposeful decisions about what is most important. Smart entrepreneurs know where their money is coming from and where it is going, and they control it every step of the way. Creating and sticking to a strict budget allows a business to respond better to challenges and opportunities that arise, because money is not being lost on unnecessary discretionary expenditures. Budgets require discipline, and discipline is essential to success in the business world.

3. Losing track of the big picture

As an entrepreneur, your business depends on you to keep track of many different things at once. It is easy to get lost in one task and allow everything else to be pushed aside. Intelligent entrepreneurs regularly balance their daily tasks and priorities with larger goals. It is important to remember that the small things are all in service of the bigger picture, and if you lose sight of the overarching purpose, everything else will suffer.

4. Being afraid of conflict

Conflict is an important part of developing strong relationships with other people. Especially in business, there will be times when people’s ideas will cause friction. Smart entrepreneurs know that shying away from conflict only makes things worse because nobody will be happy with inaction. It is better to address conflict in a positive, constructive way that works to solve the problem. 5. Using poor communication skills

Many entrepreneurs assume that they have solid communication skills. After all, if you weren’t able to communicate your business’s mission and purpose in a positive way, why would people want to be a part it?
The truth is, good communication skills are rarely inherent and can be very difficult to develop; they must be cultivated and fostered. When speaking with others, whether they are employees, partners or customers, it is important to speak clearly and use facts to explain and justify your decisions.
Many smart entrepreneurs use communication/personality tests to learn what different communication styles you and your employees use. Such tools can help you and your team better understand each other and communicate in ways that will ensure the message is clear to everyone.

The boiling point

Put a frog into a vessel fill with water and start heating the water. As the temperature of the water begins to rise, the frog adjust its body temperature accordingly. The frog keeps adjusting its body temperature with the increasing temperature of the water. Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog cannot adjust anymore. At this point the frog decides to jump out. The frog tries to jump but it is unable to do so because it has lost all its strength in adjusting with the rising water temperature. Very soon the frog dies.
What killed the frog?
Think about it!
I know many of us will say the boiling water. But the truth about what killed the frog was its own inability to decide when to jump out.
We all need to adjust with people & situations, but we need to be sure when we need to adjust & when we need to move on. There are times when we need to face the situation and take appropriate actions.
If we allow people to exploit us physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually or mentally they will continue to do so.
Let us decide when to jump!
