BREAKING NEWS:6.2 Earthquake hits central Italy,leaves 38 dead

                         

A magnitude 6.2 earthquake has struck central Italy, leaving at least 38 people dead and 150 missing, as rescuers search for survivors.

Many of the dead were in Accumoli, close to the epicentre, and a short distance away in Amatrice, which was largely reduced to rubble.
The village of Pescara del Tronto was levelled to the ground and the number of dead was expected to rise.
The quake hit at 03:36 (01:36 GMT), 100km (65 miles) north-east of Rome.
Prime Minister Matteo Renzi paid tribute to the volunteers and civil defence officials who had rushed to the scene in the middle of the night and used their bare hands to dig for survivors.
Although it struck at a shallow depth of 10km, the quake's intensity was compared to that of the Aquila earthquake in April 2009 in which 309 people died.
Some buildings in the capital shook for 20 seconds as the quake struck the regional border area of Umbria, Lazio and Le Marche. It was felt from Bologna in the north to Naples in the south. Some 80 aftershocks have been reported since.

“kill one Christian and Government will kill four Muslims”-Kenya delivers brutal justice

                                 

Kenya has delivered a harsh punishment to over 100 radical Muslims who hijacked a bus and tried to force Christians to recite Shadha, the Islamic creed. When they refused, all 28 Kenyan Christians were executed. Their reason was revenge for killing of their Muslim brothers.

When the Kenya government was told what happened, the retaliation was phenomenal. The group of terrorists were hunted down and captured. They were told for every Kenyan Christian they murdered, four of them would be killed. There was no judge, no jury, no negotiation. Boom, boom, boom. They were all executed.

To make the message even more clear, the Kenyan military flew a few jets over a Jihadist camp killing all ninety-five. To sign, seal and deliver the message, Kenyan sent gunships and ground troops and executed twenty more.

Kenya government is experimenting with a new plan to deal with Jihads. It’s a four to one approach. For every twenty-give Kenyans that are murdered, one hundred Jihads will be executed. Liberals, no doubt will think this is harsh. They would rather let them all sit in jail, being housed, clothed and fed until a Judge decides if they are guilty or not. Then if they do happen to be found guilty, they would just be sent back to their own country where they can murder more innocent people.

The rest of us however, find this a rather bold and satisfying solution. Let the punishment fit the crime. For every beheading, four of theirs should get the same. For every innocent person they chain in a cage and drop in water to drown, four of theirs should be subjected to the same. For every woman and child they assault, their penis should be cut off.

If we want to get this under control, all countries need to be more like Kenya. Forget about political correctness and compassion. We need to protect our citizens, our countries and do it in a language that these violent people understand. All we need are leaders and governments who don’t care what anyone thinks. When these Islamic terrorists see that they will be dealt with in the same manner they deal with others, it will either curb their behavior or they will be extinct. Personally, I prefer extinction as I see no way to reform their behavior. They are what they are and even military retaliation will not stop them. Something must be done.

British Priest Arrested For Child Abuse

                             
A British priest accused of child sex offences was arrested at London’s Luton airport five years after he went on the run.
Laurence Soper was arrested as he arrived back in the UK from Kosovo, police said in a statement.
Soper, 72, was taken into custody in London and is accused of nine sexual assault offences committed between 1972 and 1986.
His arrest concludes a lengthy legal battle between the UK and Kosovo, where Soper was arrested in May on a European warrant issued by Britain.
 Earlier this month a Kosovo court refused for the second time to extradite the Catholic priest, ruling he could not be extradited because the statute of limitations for the alleged crimes had been reached.

Unicef warns of recruitement of child soldiers in Sudan

                                 
The United Nations Children’s Fund is warning that there could be an increase in the number of child soldiers being forcibly recruited in South Sudan amid fears that the world’s youngest nation could be on the brink of a return to civil war.
South Sudan’s capital, Juba, was hit by a five-day violence last month despite an August 2015 peace deal.
The violence killed close to 300 people and forced thousands of others to flee to neighbouring countries.
 “At this precarious stage in South Sudan’s short history, UNICEF fears that a further spike in child recruitment could be imminent,” UNICEF’s deputy executive director Justin Forsyth said in a statement after visiting South Sudan.

9 Ways to Profit From Your Passion

                             
We’re all passionate about something in our lives. But how can you actually turn a profit off of that passion? Here are nine ways that you can make your dream come true.

1. It takes more than just passion.

Passion is a great place to start when thinking about business ideas, but don’t let that enthusiasm blind you from reality. Ask yourself if you’re willing to put in the hard work and if there is a market for you to tap into. Even if it’s just talking to some of the regulars at your favorite restaurant or bar, their feedback can be priceless.
Make sure that you’re actually good at what you do. Your passion could be playing the guitar, but are you skilled enough to give lessons or repair the instrument when it’s broken? And don’t forget that as a business owner, you’ll be responsible for paying bills, invoicing customers, reporting taxes and marketing your business. Are you up for all those tasks?

2. How can you make something better?

Again, let’s say that your passion is playing the guitar. What void can you fill in that marketplace? For example, if you can repair guitars and realize that there isn’t a repair shop anywhere else around, that could be a business opportunity.
You also need to ask yourself how you can make the industry better? Is this venture where your true entrepreneur spirit is set free?
Let’s say that your passion is cooking. What makes your meals unique? Why are they better than the other cooks in town? Maybe it’s because you only use farm fresh ingredients and pick out the produce and meats yourself every morning. That’s definitely more appealing for customers than driving up to a fast food restaurant's window.
When I started my invoice company, I had used several competitors. I knew what made them great, but I also knew what I wanted that they didn't offer. I knew I could easily make the product and service better. I built it -- and here we are!

3. Brainstorm a variety of ways to monetize each passion.

Sit down and think of all the various ways that you can actually make money off your passion. This may include:

• Selling an actual product, such as jewelry, clothing or furniture, online or in a brick and mortar store.
• Sharing your knowledge about your passion by blogging, writing books or filming videos. Between affiliate links, sponsors and subscribers, you could make a decent living. For example,the father and son behind EvanTubeHD combined their passion of film and toys into a YouTube channel that reviews toys. They're are now earning more than $1.4 million.
• Offering advice as a consultant in anything from accounting to gardening.
• Becoming an investor in an idea that you’re willing to financially support.
• Inventing a gadget or software that makes life easier for people. For example, if you were a guitar instructor, is there an app to better instruct students or a new type of tuner that could make tuning the guitar easier for newbies?
• Building an event around your passion, such as a festival or community organization.
• Finding ways to preserve or maintain items that people enjoy, such as an alteration or tailor shop for fashion lovers.

4. Don’t be a perfectionist.

While you should have some sort of experience or skills to offer, there’s always room for you to learn and grow. For example, the guitar repair shop owner may have mastered repairing acoustic guitars, but still needs to work on repairing electric guitars. Don’t wait to start your business until after you’ve mastered that craft. You will continue to hone your skills all along your journey.
The longer you wait, the higher probability that someone else will come in and start profiting from your passion.

5. Get outside of your comfort zone.

Starting a business requires you to step outside of your comfort zone every now and then. Maybe you have a fear of public speaking. You will have to overcome that when creating an instructional video on YouTube.
My friend Michael Gasiorek always tells me "Find techniques that can not only help you get outside of your comfort zone, but also work on improving your weaknesses. You don’t have to become a guru. Just familiar enough in that area so that you’re more comfortable and can deliver what people need and want."

6. Make fun a priority.

It’s difficult to maintain your passion as you attempt to grow a legitimate business. Eventually, you forget exactly why you started the business in the first place.
To prevent that from happening, always make fun and passion a priority. This means hiring people who are equally passionate as you are about your idea or product, creating policies and branding that reflect your passion, and building a company that feels the same way to others.

7. Build your skills.

Author Malcolm Gladwell says that it takes 10,000 hours to become a master at something. While this one is hard for me -- I think it's hard to spend 10k hours doing one thing -- my friend and financial expert Tom Drake says "Why many skills may take that long, don't let those hours discourage you from moving ahead with your plan. Who knows, it may not take you that long. Never stop practicing on perfecting your skills. And don’t forget to ask for feedback for what you are doing and to track your progress."

8. Overcome roadblocks.

Roadblocks are all of the factors that are preventing you from following your dreams. Instead of letting roadblocks actually block you, overcome these obstacles so that you can move forward with your business.
For example, if you’re not familiar with coding or programming, but require a website, then hire a coder. If you’re concerned that there isn’t a market for your idea - conduct market research. If you believe that your passion won’t be profitable then look for alternative ways to monetize your passion by being flexible.

9. Get creative with money.

If you need money to help scale your business,or even just to get it started, you have more options than ever before. Instead of going to your local bank or searching for investors. I've even crowdfunded my idea on Kickstarter,but there are other great choices like Indiegogo and GoFundMe as well. Not only are these sites able to raise the funds you need, they can also be used to test your product idea.

Celebrating Tribalism.

                             
In the beginning, God created Adam (generic for Mankind). Adam had Sons. One of the Sons had a great grandson Abraham. Abraham had Isaac. Isaac had Jacob. Jacob had 12 Sons. The 12 Sons became the 12 Tribes of Israel. God divided Israel into 12 Tribes with individual peculiarities because He desired diversities and STRENGTHS!
In this day and age of political correctness and all-inclusiveness, the last thing you want to do is celebrate what separates us. Everyone wants to promote what unites us. But ignoring the facts will not make the facts go away. Ignoring our differences won't make them disappear. Humanity is divided into ethnicities, and then tribes, and then clans or communities, and then families. And this is a GOOD thing. God too sets the solitary into families.
Jesus Christ, a Tribal Chauvinist?
Who even is a tribalist? Firstly, a tribalist is NOT a bigot. Secondly, tribalism is not a choice. It is what you are by birth. Jesus was recorded in Scriptures to have told His disciples to ONLY preach to the "lost sheep of Israel". Jesus being a Jew targeted ONLY the Jews in His messianic outreaches when He was on Earth, leaving out other peoples. For some, Jesus was promoting tribal chauvinism. Why only Israel? No, Jesus wasn't promoting such. Tribal chauvinism really comes down to perspectives. Jesus merely put His own people first! He would later through them reach the world.
In Nigeria, there are not more than 300 tribes. There has got to be some beauty and advantage to such diversities. Rather, we allow these to mar us than make us. Our diversities became our albatross rather than become our launchpad. There are three major ethnic groups: Hausa-Fulani, Igbo and Yoruba. Each with different customs, strengths and weaknesses.
Since, this is about celebrations I would ignore the weaknesses and focus on the strengths of each of these major groups in Nigeria (I'm focusing on Nigeria because that's the place I know).
Now, in making the following submissions I base my findings on popular facts and data as gleaned from a number of independent, non indigenous sources, lest folks accuse me of biases, fallacies and lopsidedness. And note further that my findings are based on things that are FACTUAL and UNDISPUTED about the MAJORITY in EACH TRIBE. I say this to avoid the charge of fallacy of hasty generalization. For instance, If it's true about the majority of Zulus, then it is mostly true.
I'll list just 5 arguable strengths and truths about each major tribe.
Hausa-Fulani Tribes.
* What they lack in education and sophistication they make up for in key qualities and virtues lacking in other major tribes. E.g.
*Loyalty to a fault.
*Bravery.
*Contentment.
*Closely-Knit Family Setting.
*Industry especially in Agriculture.
The combination of these strengths make them excel in the Military and Militancy, Leadership & Politics and Agriculture.
Igbo Tribes.
*Highly Innovative in Technology, Science and Entrepreneurial.
*Highly Competitive with Diehard Determination and Commitment, with or without education.
*Highly Independent and Ambitious.
*Highly Self-Driven and Self-Motivated.
*Brave and Loud.
The combination of these virtues make them excel in Auto engineering and technology in general, science, businesses and commerce and academics.
Yoruba Tribes.
*Highly Urbanized, Sophisticated and Educated.
*Highly Entrepreneurial and Independent.
*Highly Focused & Strategic.
*industry in Agriculture.
*Futuristic.
The combination of these qualities make them excel in Corporations and corporate businesses, academics, politics, agriculture, industries and modernization.
These qualities are not exhaustive, but they are representative of the strengths of these tribes. We should celebrate them more often. Hence, if I being a Yoruba choose to identify first with the leadership of the Yoruba in urbanization and sophistication and eulogize it, why should others feel threatened? Rather, they ought to celebrate with me knowing well that they've got theirs. If emphasizing the truth makes me a tribal chauvinist, so be it.
Celebrate your tribe and ignore the noise.
