STOP THE PROPAGANDA.

I have read several lies and distortions of facts by different people including educated tribalists claiming that the Hausa are ruling and oppressing the Igbo. It is an grave error to equate the entire Northern Region as Hausa just aas some Westerners believe that anyone from the old Eastern region which include the Efik, Ibibio and Ijaw as Igbo. To these semi-illiterates anybody from the North is Hausa.
Available facts show that the Igbo have held power more than the Hausa. I have read academic articles written by Igbo scholars claiming that the Hausa have held more power than the Igbo and that the Igbo are marginalized.
That error is carried over in debates and arguments. Below are list of Nigeria leaders and their ethnic group. It was part of the uncorrected civil war propaganda when the Biafran government appealed to the pity of the Christian west by claiming that the Muslim north wanted to convert the entire Igbo to Islam. These made the CARITAS, World Council of Churches and Ireland to initially support the secessionist cause. But what most people never realized is that the Head of State in Nigeria during the war is Yakubu Gowon, a Christian from the Angas tribe and he is not Hausa-Fulani. How can a Christian led government be waging Jihad against a largely Christian South East. Obasanjo whom the secessionists surrendered to is a Christian. Therefore the lies fell after the war but some hare-brained tribalists still propagate that baseless lies as facts till date.
Another important facts which these fact-twisters will not tell you is that the government of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was helped into Office by Nnamdi Azikwe who became the President. That government could be described as a North-South East led government. The Igbo dominated south east supported the NPN government of Shagari and they got the Vice-Presidency slot, they did not even vote Zik but they blame Nigeria for 'preventing' an Igbo to be president. That government could also be described as a North-South East led government.
During previous elections, Ojukwu lost in all his attempts at running for the Presidency of Nigeria, as a matter of fact, Ojukwu had more votes in the North and South West than in the South East, yet these revisionists who never even voted their heroes will turn around to claim that there is a conspiracy by other Nigerians not to vote an Igbo President.
There are other tribes who have not produced even a senate president, they are not calling other Nigerians animals and playing victims.
