Fulani herdsmen kill 20 in Enugu community

Approximately 20 people are reported to have been killed in Ukpabi Nimbo, an agrarian community in Enugu State, following an attack staged by Fulani herdsmen on Tuesday.
According to reports over 100 armed cattle rearers stormed the community, killing indiscriminately and razing buildings in the process.
Prior to the attack, reports had indicated that the group of herdsmen had been recruiting gunmen from Nasarawa in preparation for the deadly ambush.
Many of the villagers escaped to the nearby Uzo-Uwani area, where many of the natives in the community are fearing for their safety in light of more attacks.
Five corpses have been recovered thus far, with many more expected to be discovered.
Ebere Amaraizu, PR Officer for the Enugu State Command, confirmed the attack but stated that the exact number of casualties has not yet been ascertained.
