Ahead of the polls opening in the general elections on Monday, a vast security operation has commenced in Philippines.Reports say at least 100,000 Police officials would be on duty to curb any situation of violence.
Five candidates will contest in the presidential poll while a Vice President, senators and about 18,000 local officials including mayors would also be elected.
Reports says 15 people have been killed so far during the election campaign.
The election was marred by violence as a mayoral candidate was murdered in the south on Saturday.
