His Royal Majesty, Eze Thomas Obiefule, the President of National Council of Royal Fathers in Nigeria has called on the Federal Government to, as a matter of urgency, release the detained Chief Nnamdi Kanu, of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Eze Obiefule who has been on the throne since 1982 as the traditional ruler of Umudioka Ancient Kingdom in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, said this yesterday during an ininteractive session with newsmen.
He maintained that it is not possible to get a republic within a republic, according to him, “It is important for the Federal Government to release Chief Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB now. As a highly respected traditional ruler, it is unthinkable to have a republic within a republic.
“I am quite certain that the problem of Biafra will be amicably resolved without shooting a bullet. Agitation is part of life and must be considered fundamental, hence once there is life, there must be agitation even within families, offices, states and nationhood.”
The famous traditional ruler who expressed satisfaction with the Federal Government’s amnesty strategic approach to Niger Delta militants noted that the National Council of Royal Fathers in their 105th crucial meeting held last week in Abuja, passionately advised the Federal Government on the need to embrace dialogue as a strategic approach of achieving peace and stability in the nation.
Eze Obiefule also cautioned against blowing of oil pipes and kidnapping of foreigners by the militant group named Avengers noting that it is the bane of the nation’s distressed economy.
