Trump didn’t say Muslims would be banned from US - Lewandowski

Instead, Corey Lewandowski told international reporters that those applying for US citizenship would face stringent rules.

Speaking to the breakfast show, today: ‘What we said is if we can’t have a full vetting, a significant vetting process then those people shouldn’t be coming in to the United States.
He denied the campaign team ever said there would be a ban on Muslims travelling to America.
He added: ‘It is a privilege and an honour to be a United States citizen. It’s a high privilege, I think one of the greatest privileges in the world.’
He later agreed with presenter Susanna Reid when she sought to clarify that there was no ban, simply a stricter vetting process for people travelling from countries that have experience terrorism.
The interview also saw Mr Lewandowski say that a safe zone should be created for Syrian refugees ‘so they’re not coming into the country and committing crimes against our citizens’.
But his comments about the Muslim ban are likely to cause more confusion.
