Jesus fed the 5,000 (men ONLY excluding women and children, meaning the figure would be close to 10,000) after teaching them about the Kingdom.
Today, those who claim to represent Jesus gather tens of thousands for a Jamboree in a Country with the following statistics as at 2012:
"Poverty has risen in Nigeria, with almost 100 million people living on less than a $1 (£0.63) a day, despite economic growth, statistics have shown. The National Bureau of Statistics said 60.9% of Nigerians in 2010 were living in "absolute poverty" - this figure had risen from 54.7% in 2004.Feb 13, 2012.

Imagine the stats NOW that we have an ECONOMIC RECESSION IN NIGERIA!
SCARY!!
Let your light so shine that men would see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
What is wrong if billionaire churches;
Fund cancer cure researches
Fund AIDS/HIV cure researches
Fund Free healthcare
Fund public schools (like some are doing)
Fund and support agriculture and technology-driven agribusinesses.
Fund and support...just "feed the 5000".
Can the churches do enough of this in a poor society? The answer is NO. Once in a while charity isn't enough. It MUST BE A SUSTAINED EFFORT so that our Father in heaven can be glorified.
Rather than do these, churches are competing with who has the most gigantic edifice, who hosts the biggest concerts, who attracts the biggest crowds etc. I weep, just like Jesus wept!
The Church is supposed to be the Light of the World (not of Heaven) and the Salt of the Earth (not of Heaven).
