The Senator representing Katsina South, Abu Ibrahim has
opined that President Muhammadu Buhari is not sick but only exhausted by the
gamut of problems confronting Nigerians currently.
Ibrahim, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on
Police Affairs made the remark on Tuesday while accosted by reporters at the
National Assembly lobby in Abuja.
Noting that those spreading rumour of the President’s
sickness missed the point, the All Progressives Congress, APC, lawmaker reeled
out issues that might have taken a toll on the President.
The lawmaker listed the issues as the destruction of oil
pipeline that has reduced production of oil to almost half, fall in oil price
that has affected the economy and led to recession as well as the falling
exchange rate that has affected the purchasing power of most Nigerians.
Ibrahim disclosed that he has been in constant touch with
Buhari, claiming that he was actually with him the day the President left the
country, adding that “the President will be back ”
The lawmaker who insisted that “ Buhari will soon come back”
noted that there was no need for Nigerians to be unduly apprehensive “because
the President is not sick but exhausted by the weight of the problems the
country is going through.”
He appealed to Nigerians to continue to pray for the
President to come home and continue his work.
