AN AFRICAN VILLAGE MOTHER - Ogunmola Samson
08145018611, ogunmolasamson@yahoo.com
Sitting there in her melancholy
facing the hills of the village
where the sun goes
after its day of work
She sighs,
looks up at the setting sun
praying for her children
she looks at them
in their nonchalantness
and it gives her hope
though she is in dubiety
of what lies ahead
Yet, she prays and hopes
and loves and cares
and like every other village mother
she sits in wait
for the next market day.
