According to the report, the discussion is centered on whether to
dismiss the manager immediately or allow him to take charge for
Saturday’s Barclays Premier League match against Sunderland.
The Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich is reluctant to sack Mourinho as the
Portuguese has no buy-out clause in his newly signed contract, meaning
Mourinho could command a compensation of up to £40million.
It is believed that Abramovich is keeping Mourinho as a result of the lack of realistic replacements.
However, Abramovich is in an emergency meeting with trusted advisors
of the club which include: Bruce Buck, Marina Granovskaia, Eugene
Tenenbaum and Michael Emenalo at Stamford Bridge.
Reports from some quarter have it that Juande Ramos,a Spanish former footballer and manager with a Ukrainian football club, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk is a surprise
candidate being considered as a potential caretaker manager by Chelsea
should the board decide to sack José Mourinho before the end of the
season.
