Why Did God Destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah?

Dear readers and viewers,i want us to discuss on this issue because it is bringing so much hate amongs us as a society.it has even brought hate and confusion amongs religious bodies.
Why Did God Destroy Sodom and Gomorrah?Lets discuss this.
Many countries of the world are now passing the law in favour of gay marriage so,it is now predicted that the Supreme Courts all over the world will soon give its ruling on same sex marriages.
We should be clear. The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was not simply because the city was full of homosexuality,or was that the reason God destroyed Sodom?
The word of God is truth.There is another part of scripture that states something strange:
Ezekiel 16:49"'Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy."
Does this means that God destroyed her because she was arrogant,overfed and unconcerned?,Lets discuss this
