Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has admonished residents of the state to invite God to help them in choosing the right candidate to succeed him.
Oshiomhole gave the admonition at the Jesus Deliverance Ministry, Benin, where he went on a thank-you visit for the church’s support and prayers to his administration.
He said that inviting God for guidance was imperative as power belonged to Him, and that He alone could guide and direct leaders to know what to do and deliver on their political promises to the people.
He said that unless God guided, leaders would work in vain, adding that there had been cases where people were elected into office and did not know what to do after their election.
The governor said that anything done without the fear of God could not succeed, stressing that he was in church to appreciate it and God for his stewardship.
According to him, "it is only fair I did that as I have visited in the past to seek your support during my elections"
He said that his tenure was a story of miracle in view of his background and the fact that he had spent better part of his life agitating for the betterment of the masses.
Oshiomhole added that his tenure was also a miracle as he defeated forces that had dominated the nation's political life.
