U.S. intelligence sources are warning of possible terrorist
attacks on U.S. soil set for Monday, according to multiple national media
outlets.
There are reports of possible
pre-Election Day attacks in New York, Texas and Virginia. No specific locations
are mentioned.
The outlets cited anonymous sources saying U.S. intelligence
officials alerted joint terrorism task forces of the threat.
The credibility of the threat yet has not been confirmed
yet,but authorities are taking the threat seriously.
“The counterterrorism and homeland security communities
remain vigilant and well-postured to defend against attacks here in the United
States," a senior FBI official told reporters. "The FBI, working with
our federal, state and local counterparts, shares and assesses intelligence on
a daily basis and will continue to work closely with law enforcement and
intelligence community partners to identify and disrupt any potential threat to
public safety.”
