Poland’s largest mobile network operator (MNO) by
subscribers, Orange Polska, has introduced voice-over-Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi)
technology on a commercial basis. The Wi-Fi Calling service is supported by
inbuilt device technology and is set up on voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) enabled
devices, with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge outlined as the first
two devices to support Wi-Fi Calling. The operator said that Wi-Fi Calling
rates are the same as the rates for national calls, with the service also
available for subscribers of nju mobile, the budget sub-brand of Orange Polska.
