$15.54 - $20.47 an hour - Part-time
Instruct pre-school & youth age children in pre-ballet, classical ballet, tap jazz, hip-hop and other forms of dance.

    Typically scheduled:
        Wednesdays from 4 pm - 7 pm
        Saturdays from 9 am - 12 pm

Supervision Received And Exercised

The Instructor II receives supervision from the Center Supervisor and Program Coordinator and exercises no supervision over other employees.

Essential Job Functions

    Supervises and leads recreational activities.
    Supervises program participants and ensures classroom and/or activity area is safe for participants and instructors.
    Provides class instruction and demonstrates knowledge, skill and ability in specific area(s) of expertise.
    Developing a complete lesson plan as requested by Supervisor.
    Ensures that all participants are registered.
    Responsible to check out equipment and return to proper storage area.
    Report all accidents/incidents to office staff immediately and complete necessary forms.
    Maintain accurate attendance records and return to office at end of term. Responsible to pick up class roster prior to scheduled class.
    Responsible for securing class supplies.
    Responsible to personally hand out program evaluation forms.
    Responsible to turn off all equipment; i.e., lights, stereo, air conditioning, TV, etc., and properly secure classroom.
    Prepare room set up for activity and clean up after activity.
    Inform supervisor about any problems regarding classroom, participants, etc. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

    Education and practical training in dance for youth and/or adults.
    Experience in working with/teaching children.
    Maintains current First Aid and CPR certificates.
    Must be able to deal in a courteous, knowledgeable and tactful manner with participants, staff and general public.
    Knowledge of the principles and practices of leadership and group organization, planning, and implementing a recreational program.
    Maintain a neat and professional appearance.

Licenses, Certificates And Other Requirements

    Current First Aid and CPR certifications.

Experience and Training Guidelines Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:
Minimum two years experience in specialty area

AND

Education/Training:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade plus additional specialized training equivalent to two years of college.
